Heron Lakes Golf Course

Cheap course and the only reason my buddy and I went was because of the high percentage chance of rain. The marshal was speaking with us to speed up when in fact the course was pact with nowhere to go. We played thru a threesome which was a man and two women. They continued to speak with us and others to satisfy a tournament of young kids. I see why I have not played here in 5 years. I WILL NOT BE BACK to Heron Lakes. That old saying is true: You get what you pay for. We only got 9 in due to the rain, but I will not play one more hole at this DUMP!!!

Greens have enough breaks and slope to keep you interested. What I really like about small tracks like this one is you get to work on your irons and hybrids. I only used driver 2 times on this course.

Over the past year the improvements have been many at Heron Lakes. The greens have gone from spotting and slow to even and fast. Tee boxes are in good shape and there is a marked difference between the fairway and the rough. The course may be short but it puts a premium on accuracy. This course is now beautiful, fun and fair. If the golf isn't enough there is Victor's next door that has outstanding food. The only drawbacks is that there is no putting green or driving range to warm up. Overall - that is a small price to pay for the value pricing that it costs to play a round. Great job to the management for turning this place into a real gem.

First time I have ever played this place. The course is in fantastic condition. The Greens are amazing. Love the layout. This place is no joke, it is a challenging place to play. I wish I lived closer I would play it everyday. With a hot deal this place is the best bargain in town. The staff is really friendly and next time I will try the restaurant.

The course is fun to play long par threes greens and good shape Fairways good you know there's some brown areas of grass here and there but overall a good condition for late August we'll play again

Management is getting a lot more strict on the "golfnow" tee times. They make you ride in the cart with whoever else booked the same golfnow tee time. The stopped allowing you to go out early and will make you wait for whoever has booked the same golfnow tee time before they let you tee off. The greens rolled good and the fairway was in good shape. Either I was hitting the ball father than normal or the yardage was off that day.

This is a great course. Played quickly and broke 100!!

I had an amazing experience! When I got in the pro shop, my golf shoes fell apart, so the gentleman was totally cool about it and offered a discount on some new ones. I told them that I could not afford them, and he was okay with that, even allowing me to play wearing my sandals (I promised that I'd buy a new pair of golf shoes before playing at the course again). The course itself was in great shape. I have been playing at H.L. for at least six years, and the changes have been ASTOUNDING! The fairways were in excellent shape, and the greens were super nice. I will always consider Heron Lakes my home course!

Course is narrow, no need for a Driver. Good course for beginner for the dollar value. I (regular player) tee'd off with a 5 iron and par'd half the holes. Took wife (new golfer) and she doesn't ever wanna go back. Course is narrow, and some holes I would consider unfair.

There are some small changes to the course since the last time I played. The tee boxes have been worked on and the greens are improving. Still a short course, but excellent for shot placement and fairway work. The course is on a good path, continue to reward the golfers with a nicely kept up course.

Great little golf course. Challenging without sand traps, fair amount of trees and water. Also some long par 3's. Great value!

Very affordable course. It was in good shape. It's a very short course with no par 5s. However, most fairways are narrow, requiring some accuracy off the tee (which I lack). Thus, I did spend too much time in the trees. No sand traps on the course, and water comes into play on a handful of holes. I would certainly play this course again. Friendly staff.

The length of the course was short and I only used my driver once. The greens were in good shape and the fairways are narrow so it takes a great deal of accuracy. I had fun playing this course.

Enjoyed the challenge of changing my natural game to suit the course. My advice would be to study the map on each hole to avoid the many water hazards and leave the big sticks in the bag.

Good course for the price was testing new clubs great layout, greens need a lot of work, pace of play was great finished 18 in 2 hours will play again.

It is a great course if you would like to play a quick round of golf without any wait. The course was in overall good shape. The staff is friendly and got us on the course quick. I will go back.
