Great layout
The traps need to be fixed, even though they don't like to spend money on sand, the least they can do is take the many stones out of 100% of the traps, the only cost is labour.
A great challenge
Played on a very hot day and because of possible thundershowers ( that never developed) we had the course to ourselves . It was a pleasure to play as a twosome in 31/2 hours one of the most challenging and scenic courses in the GTA at a great price .
Greens could have been faster
Legends
Definitely a legendary course. The course was in excellent shape and the pace of play was unparalleled for. Sunday afternoon. Our group had a great time on this very challenging course.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Blocking forward to coming back!
Glad you enjoyed the round. Thanks!
Perfect
The course was perfect. The weather was perfect. My playing partner played amazing. My game...not so perfect. Loved the course.
Very challenging, and scenic course.
Played on a Sunday afternoon, 4.5 hour round, as a foursome. Got a good rate booking through GolfNow. Course was in great shape, although the greens were much slower than I would have expected. It's a difficult golf course with some woods, marsh, and a river coming into play on many holes. Beautiful layout, a must play.
You want to be on your game here. Definitely not for a novice golfer.
Staff extremely rude/6 hour round
Not only was it a six hour round, they sent a group booked 40 minutes after me off the tee before my group.
My entire group arrived 90 minutes early and was actually sent off the block later than our booked time.
At the turn; there was a three group hold up at the tee.
The course is rated hardest in Canada; at the least, make the day enjoyable as we subject ourselves to the toughness of the course.
I confronted the Marshall at the first tee and he was the rudest person I've ever met. He was arrogant and unfriendly.
Greens were hairy and tee blocks were not cut in a few days. We needed extra long tees and putting was not like we practiced on the practice green.
I will not recommend this course to people I know.
Nice comment Marco. Don't you work at Lionhead?? ;)
Course is gimmicky, especially without a guide
I usually only play the Legends, a true hitters course. The Masters is a gimmicky course, with a lot of blind shots, extreme dog legs and hidden hazards. You could hit great shots, only to be on the wrong side of the green or rolling into an unmarked hazard. The course uses some crazy forced short shots off the tee, to keep you from trying to go for a more rewarding shot. They should either have gps in the carts, or complimentary green guides at the very least.
Winter Golf
The course was in great shape considering that it is in the end of November.
Great course!
The condition of the golf course in November was fantastic! The greens were still rolling very true.
Still the one.
First time at Legends this year. Last year I experienced a 5 hour plus round which I don't particularly like. We played as four in four hours 15 min. Course was in great shape for fall. Greens were fast and nice except for a few ball marks. Great views with the leaves changing colours. extremely challenging, Overall great experience. Will definitely return.
Awesome
If you have never played this place, you should. Lots of discounted tee times available online so dont pay full clip. Great greens and layout. stay out of the sand.
A tough classic
Super challenging but fair if you're straight...great greens and beautifully sculpted bunkers. Lots of forced carries so leave your beginniner buddy at home
Course was great, very challenging
Experience getting green fee on line was not an issue when I presented my internet e-mail confirmation at the pro shop. no questions asked and paid the discounted price I was given on-line.
I knew the course would be a challenge and it kicked my butt
For the price, it should include GPS.
I enjoyed the day with my father but was thoroughly disappointed that there were no water stations at all on the course. This to me is just a way of generating sales on bottled water and other beverages. I already spent 80 dollars on a round and food at the turn. The course needs to rethink there strategy and provide water throughout the round, they'll find that the outlay cost will not affect the bottom line and there cart sales will not take a hit. The course offers senior rates but doesn't consider the fact that they are on a budget and may not buy a water and subsequently do harm to themselves! All courses should adopt a water station rule, it will keep all patrons hydrated and willing to buy a beer or two in the process!
Lionhead
36 holes tough course for play, not for beginers. staff of club house very nice
Amazing!
Course layout of the legends is challenging and course conditions were great!
Lionhead - Legends Course
Fantastic course! Very beautiful landscape and club house. Very friendly service, too. Very good overall.
Fantastic course.a fair challenge
Definitely a challenging course. Beautiful architecture. Water. Woods. Fescue in all sorts of places, getting a birdie here feels like a real accomplishment, par fours are tough. Greens are perfect. Some quite small. Hard to hold if coming in with a mid iron.
Absolutely loved it and defined going back,
Clubhouse is beautiful but beer selection was poor. Only four taps and no craft beers, food was okay but surroundings and menu suggested higher quality,
Legends Course
The first impression of the club house was very nice, clean and modern pro shop. The shuttle to the clubhouse from the parking lot is a nice touch.
- the course was challenging, but it was great! Enjoyed this course. Only recommendation would be to have more than one beer cart, and to include snacks and sandwiches.
We are glad you enjoyed yourself!
