Solid but not perfect
It really depends on what time of year you go. But overall East Potomac Blue is actually a very fun course and is a good challenge for beginner to intermediate level golfers. There’s a good mix of easy holes and a few pretty long difficult holes as well. Pretty much the best you will get about 30 minutes around the DC area.
Very Nice Views
The views of DC monuments were very nice. Greens were in excellent shape. The fairways are in good shape. Cart paths was non existent and need repair, but I was walking so it wasn't a huge deal. I would recommend playing this course.
A golf course like no other
This course is not the biggest challenge, but it should be on every golfer's bucket list. The 18-hole Blue Course sports amazing views of the Nation's Capital. The course is surrounded by the Potomac River and lots of monuments, not a bunch of high-priced private homes. Green fees are very reasonable. The only potential distraction is Reagan National Airport, which is located on the other side of the Potomac. Jets roar during takeoff and landing, so this is no placid golf course. Yet it all combines to make a memorable round of golf. I'll gladly play there again!
A Great Value and Unique
East Potomac Blue Course is a unique course with views of some of our National Monuments (e.g., Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial) and other Washington DC buildings and features. The course is a links style course with no houses on it and is a National Park. Right now it costs only $40 per round on the weekend and you can pay to have a pull cart or cart. The course is very walkable. The golf course has a driving range and big putting greens. There are additional courses (e.g., executive course, par three course and three practice holes). The course is being improved on a consistent basis and there is a seven year plan or so to completely improve the course.
The course is not maintained at a private country club level yet but it is in good shape and a terrific value for the money. It is also an extremely unique course (views of some of our National Monuments, National Airport, the two rivers which form the Potomac, the Potomac, the War College, Masonic Temple and lots of helicopters flying overhead including Marine One).
My current handicap index is 1.9 and this is my home course.
Getting much better
The course conditions are much improved. Fairways are solid and greens are are good enough for sure.. Tee boxes were better as well. You will enjoy!
Nice place for the money
First time playing here. The course is fairly easy with mostly straight fairways and not a lot of elevation change. The fairway and greens were in nice shape with the only blemishes on the greens being peoples lack of divot repair.
Fun course with great views of DC
This is a great option for player of all skill levels in DC. Fair price with great views of the Washington monument. Course is long enough to allow players to hit all the clubs in their bag. Pace is an issue though so be prepared for long rounds. Condition of bunkers and greens could be better. Not a bad option for a relaxed but somewhat challenging round with friends.
Decent local Muni
Really wish it was a little better taken care of. Sand needs replacing. Only about 1/5 driving range ports have rubber tees for the mats. That feels like it would be maybe a $50 purchase in total. It’s good but there are some small improvements that could be made that would really up the quality.
