Waste of time
Mobile checked-in only to find out they had no carts available . One hour delay with multiple groups waiting to tee off. Requested refund of the round with others as well. Time is limited to play a round of golf with my son and this course’s golf tee time reservation wasted my time and prevented us from playing at another course that day. Disappointed
No food and only water
The clubhouse only has water to drink and no food. I am not exaggerating. They only had water for sale on a hot Saturday in June. They were also short on golf carts and our tee time was delayed by 25 minutes. The course is very poorly run.
Solid for a muni, but bring your own food
I've played this course many times over the years. Of the ATL munis, it's probably as good as it gets. And for the price we paid (a hair under $50 for 18 with a cart), it's a good value. Good mix of challenging holes and others where you can score. Condition of the greens was pretty good. Most fairways were fine, though some were really burnt out.
The biggest problem right now is the same with all the ATL munis since 2020: zero food options. Not a hot dog. Not a burger. Not so much as a bag of chips or a granola bar ... anywhere. I can't imagine how many players have been caught completely by surprise on this, as it's basically unheard of. CoA needs to get themselves together and allow food back at these courses. It's not only absurd on its face, but it's actively cutting into the course's revenue every day they're hamstrung like this. So, the lesson for players: make a sandwich or bring some jerky, pack a cooler, and have whatever you need in there.
Location Location Location
Not bad for a muni course and the cost. Buckhead location is it's best feature. Greens are pretty good. Several fairways have severe slopes that will not hold a good drive. Large clubhouse with virtually nothing in it. Strange.
Average Course
Is what it is as a Municipal course. At times a shooting gallery with bare fairways. With that said, greens were ok and pace of play was not too bad. Would be a lot better if they had a grill for hotdogs at the turn.
Decent but issues
So this was my first time trying it this course. Parking was or marker to support where to park were not present and it was difficult to determine where the front the golf course was. Upon checking in via mobile I went inside to ask about the carts & was informed they were low on carts but possibly someone was finishing and returning off the 18th hole. Wait wasn't long however the cart received had back break and was Artie safely hazard. Most courses I've been too have clear markers where to start or stop, these had none. Additionally as we were just getting started on first hole and as the only black women on the course ONLY WE were approached by the gold staff telling us to play Best Ball to move along since we had a large group behind us. However out start time was delayed by lack of Cart which we paid for and lack of other details. On top of that he properly provided cart which was a clear safety hazard.. the whole experience was bad as people behind us acted as if we were the hold up and NO ONE ELSE was told what or how to play which for $70.00 we shouldn't have been singled out and told what or how to play due to the Golf Courses poor time management.
So I do not recommend nor will I ever play here again. Sorry not Sorry.
Downhill
I've played Chastain tons of times throughout my years. It used to be an incredible deal and great course, even if the rounds were a bit slow.
This time was nail in the coffin. Pace-of-play was not enforced at all and there was a 25 minute wait on 12 teebox. The course was not in great condition, as I've been used to it in the past. When I left the round after 12 (could not take the pace of the round and course conditions) there were only 2 people on 16/17/18, while the whole course was backed up. Completely unacceptable.
Too much waiting time
Very disorganized at the start no starter staff to manage tee times
Decent for a busy Public Course
Played 05/25/23, 1:12 tee-time. Was late teeing off but things got moving once out on the course. Greens were surprisingly good, pace of play was OK. Fairways were rough in a lot of holes. For $45 it was a good deal.
Fun muni
Greens were in great shpe
Lots of twists and turns on the layout made it interestng
Just coming out of winter and fairways returning to all green
Well worth the time and money
This course is in desperate need of maintenance/makeover
Paid $45 total for green fees/cart on a weekday morning. What are they putting the money towards? It’s definitely not going towards the carts. The seats are all torn and tattered as if hanging out at a junk yard, and haven’t been hosed down in weeks, all the sand bottles are empty, nor is there gps.(A “luxury” yes but in this day and age…)
It’s also DEFINITELY not going towards upkeep of the course. From the first tee to the last, the tee boxes are all poorly marked, torn up, patches of unleveled areas and dirt. Might as well be teeing off from the rough. Which is what every shot from the “fairway” is like. You can’t tell where the fairway stops and the rough begins on most holes. Some holes looked like out of bounds, just dirt with some grass here and there. The greens need help as well. It’s like your ball needs special off-road dimples for all the bumps!
Atlanta isn’t rationing water, why is this course a dust bowl?!
I forgot my rangefinder so it was very difficult to guess any consistent yardage due to inconsistent markers from hole to hole as some didn’t have the 200, some didn’t have the 150, or 100 yard marked on the hole… at all. Not on the path or on sprinkler heads. At the turn around, you’d think maybe there’d be some snacks/food? Nope, not really.
The point is, this course should be charging super-twilight rates as regular rates for the product they’re putting out.
This is the ONLY(full-sized)18 hole course in the Sandy Springs area that isn’t a 40+ minute drive away and perhaps they know this because people still come, pay and play regardless…
Do better… smdh
Sunset golf round
Loved the course and the price, but they shouldn't advertise a tee time 90 minutes before sunset that includes a cart in the fees if the cart has to be back 45 minutes into the round.
