Course in Great Condition
What an excellent value. $80 per round if closer to Indy. Staff is great.
Great course
Just got to play nine holes till the rain came but the course is in immaculate shape we will be back
13 Club Course
I haven't played this course since they had whicker baskets for the pin flags and the black-n-white poles positioned in the fairways indicating your distance to the middle of the green, but still challenging and fun! This course really challenges your skill off the tee box to position yourself into a makable shot to the green. I used every club in my bag more than once. Every hole has something unlike the previous hole. I really enjoyed playing a course that made me think about my approach from tee to green on every hole.
Quickly becoming my favorite course around
I have been playing this course off and on for the past 15 years, and I always feel like it is a treat to play it. The layout is outstanding and offers lots of challenges for golfers of any skill set. The opening hole is probably the most difficult first hole around the city, and it gives you a good taste for what is to come. There are some picturesque signature holes on this course including #4 and #10 that will leave you wanting more. The staff is outstanding and the friendliest that I have encountered at any course I've ever played.
The greens are very tricky with lots of undulation and they generally are very fast. The fairways are plush and roll out well when it is dry. This course can be very difficult if you are not playing well, but it can also be scored on with a good ball striking day. The greens make the course formidable.
I would dare anyone to find a course under $50 that is better anywhere. I highly recommend everyone give this course a go.
great
We play this course a lot. Best bent grass fairways in the area with wonderful greens. If this course were closer to Indy it would be $75. We used golf now and got a great price. Everyone I know rave about this course. Well worth the drive.
Hidden Gem
One hour drive from my house, but what a great find. Will definitely put this course on my must play monthly list. Staff is fantastic.
Perfect
This course is always in perfect condition. Beautiful bent grass fairways. If this course was closer to Indy it would be $75. Great course for the money and a steal on Golf Now hot deals.
Outing review - quick thoughts
Played an outing here, so it's a bit of a struggle to really get my thoughts right (always playing in fairway, no bunker play, etc).
Really cool place though, lots of humps, bumps and hills, with some weaving in between trees. Conditions were pretty good and some fun holes that will require you to know where you're going/how far to hit, etc.
I'm playing a regular round here in a few weeks, so I'll post a more thorough write-up after that.
Always a great track
Royal Hylands is a great course and hard to beat the value. The location of the course is about 45 minutes from Indianapolis and if they were closer to the city could certainly charge more. Great layout except for hole number 10. Always in good condition.
One of my favorites in Central Indiana!
The Epitome of “Hidden Gem”
I wish I could give more than 5 stars in the “Value for the Money” category. It is such a beautiful, interesting, and well kept course. It’s so good that it’s becoming my new home course in spite of being 45 minutes away. The greens are always in excellent condition and they are as challenging as it gets around here. If you haven’t played Royal Hylands you really won’t regret the drive.
Very good layout !
Fairways are outstanding. Greens are very good and on the fast side. The layout is one of the best ! Short holes, long holes, down hill,up hill.short fairways, wide fairways , doglegs and sand traps.well worth the exra drive time.
Wonderful course
I've been playing this track for 30+ years and feel this course is a gem. Greens are severe, fast and true. Longer holes are beasts. Short holes are tricky. The easiest hole will whip your tail. Staff has been nothing but pleasant every time I've been there. Golfnow deal let us play for 15 bucks.
super course
played on a rainy day course drains very well and was in great condition, greens were very good, if you want a very excellent golf course this is the one you should play
Nicest course I have played tee to green-seriously!
The course was immaculate. Not a blemish on the fast greens and fairways were the same. The rating is not an exaggeration. I play courses all over Indy and this is a hidden gem.
Hidden Gem
One of the best kept secrets in the Indianapolis area. From the service of the staff, the conditions of the course, the pace of play, and the grilled chicken sandwich afterwards, you couldn't ask for more. If only this course was closer to home, I'd play here 3/4 days a week.
