Exactly what we were looking for!
We booked a special rate at Shoreline ($25.00 for 18 holes with cart between the hours of 11-2) and having never played this course, I had no expectations. The course itself was in great shape and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'm a beginner; I've only golfed a couple of times a year for a handful of years, but the course was very easy to play without hazards on multiple holes. Plus, the weather was absolutely perfect to top it off!
Greens were terrible
Everything was good about the course except the greens were extremely bumpy. I basically focused on my full swing and then once I got on the green just kept the pin in and didn't even read the putt it was so bad.
The greens were shaggy and looked like they were behind on maintenance. I won't play this course again until I know the greens are in better condition.
Liked the course otherwise, but wouldn't recommend at this time.
Great Friday of Golf
Course was in good condition for this time of year. The greens had been airified but that is to be expected for this time of year. The staff was very friendly. Great experience
45 Min drive From where I live
Enjoyable course if you can keep it in fairway, but when you miss, the course will eat you up
The greens were bumpy and lacking grass. The round took 6 hours and waited with and other foursome on every tee. Teed off 25 minutes after our scheduled tee time after checking in 20 minutes early and were total the tee times were on time. Will never play this course again.
Ok if less than $20
If you pay more than $20 the small things start to grind on you...the slow pace of play, poor upkeep of the traps, terrible condition of the greens, etc. The greens are the biggest disappointment. Inconsistent, ill repaired and needing some TLC, big time!
Played this course a few times last year and the condition was better then. Give it a go biit be forewarned.
Jed I
Nice course a few leaves. I've played there in late summer and the leaves really make it hard to find your ball even in the middle of the fairway so play now.
Nice for the price but beware
The course layout and condition were solid, even for fall weather golf. Shot selection is at a premium, but there are still enough holes for you to use driver. The staff was friendly. The biggest draw back of this course was pace of play. Be prepared for a long day if you get stuck behind slow, and I mean SLOW, players.
Wish I Would Have Played During the Week
Wow, I got a rude reminder of why I don't play golf on the weekend. I should have brought a pillow for little 5-10 minute mini-naps between each shot. The layout of the course is great and overall the groundskeeping is good, but you can tell they've had some challenges with water damage and apparently nobody knows how to fix a divot. With the soft ground some of the greens looked like a cratored lunar landscape. I ended up quitting after 9.
Great course with challenging layout
My wife and I played this course for the first time as we are avid golfers and usually play Omaha courses. This course combined the layout of a true links course with high grasses and sand traps with the a wooded course that challenges your drives on every hole. The greens were moderately slow but were consistent and in great shape. We loved the water holes being able to watch the boats as there is nothing like it in the Omaha market. If you have a low handicapper, then I suggest hitting from the Blue tees as the tee shots are even narrower and the par 3's are over 170 yards. Overall this was a great experience and we are now considering becoming members for 2017.
Good Value
Fun course. Always in good conditions. Only complaint is the pace of play is usually a little on the slower side. Will be back.
Too crowded
We had a 45 min wait to tee off at the the first tee box it was so crowded. We had to play at an extremely fast pace to keep everyone from piling on top of one another.
Great value
I have always enjoyed my time at Shoreline. Great value course that has a slightly different feel from the front nine to the back. Only complaint was the pace of play. Teed off late and there were four groups waiting to tee at off after the turn. Still a good experience
My goodness...
This course honestly was a disaster. The pace of play was so ridiculous that I had a tee time for 2:30 and I wasn't able to tee off until 3:00 and the staff wasn't aware of that so I had no warning about it. The course was so wet that any wedge shot I had was a mud ball. I wouldn't recommend this course to golfers with any experience on the course
Normally, I have had nothing but good things to say about Shoreline. The course is always in good shape and the staff is friendly. Today however, someone wrote a racial slur on the steering wheel of my golf cart while it was unattended. It is a shame that someone decided to take away what is usually a pleasant experience.
