Reid Park Golf Club - North Course
About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

Not bad
Greens were a bit rough, but it's early in the season. Otherwise course was rounding into shape nicely.
Needs Work
Bunkers were all chopped up dirt, and unkept big time.
Many unmowed and unkept areas. Alot of ground under repair on many holes. No ball washers..no advanced listings of holes (layout of holes)…water came into play unknowingly..not listed on card…known only via my golf app…plus, they just unknowingly aerated 2 weeks ago.
Affordable
Like Reid Park for the value and the options of playing two courses. No sand traps on the south course and they are getting rid of many traps on North course. The traps that remain are pretty much unplayable and not maintained. Golf cart paths are mostly undrivable. I would just grind them all down to gravel. That being said the layouts are good, staff is very friendly and good courses to play for the money. For that reason we go back often.
Conditions
Course was in great condition, greens were extremely fast and rolled true!!
Gorgeous layout, challenging greens!
Can’t wait to play again knowing the coarse a little better.
I realize this is a public course, and probably short staffed, but the bathrooms weren’t in the best of conditions and because they have no one out on the course, (I saw two younger girls driving work carts around a couple times) we had a group of kids in front of us in carts, fooling around and doing everything they shouldn’t be doing on a golf course. I’m not actually sure I care to go back. I went in afterwards to report it, but there was no one at the cart barn and the person inside the club house had taken a 5 minute break.
Going downhill
Always loved this course, but was rather disappointed in the condition of the course. Multiple overgrown bunkers, neglected tee boxes and a general state of neglect (aside from the greens, which were in good shape).
Perfect day
Easy check in , perfect weather , greens were challenging and food was good
Beautiful day
Pace of play was excellent, greens were challenging. No bunkers just yet but that didn’t stop me from enjoying a nice round . After 9 definitely stop and grab a bit very tasty
A Great Place To Play
While visiting family in Springfield, my wife and I decided to try this course. The course is fantastic. A nice layout. Both greens and fairways were in great shape for being early in the season. The bunkers are being worked on (there are none) but still enough water hazards to be challenging. The staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Make sure you stop in for the GREAT food in the clubhouse. It was an extremely enjoyable day and I recommend this hidden gem of a course.
BS
There’s no sand in the bunkers and greens are aerated which I never saw on the website when I booked it through you guys and then you told me you weren’t gonna do anything about it I am fed up with it. You guys need to make it I have a lot more obvious when the course is under maintenance because I drove almost an hour to get there and you did nothing for me about it so you guys are failing desperately. I’ve not been impressed since you bought tee off you haven’t gotten better you’re just monopolizing the industry.
