We make the hour trip once a year to play and the course is as we all expected, . 75% all around. Greens were slow today.
Rock Manor Golf Club
Played On 09/15/20215 and a half hours on a Wednesday afternoon
Completely unbelievable! Off at 1 , done at 6:30 . Being the closest course to my house, I like to play it once in a while. But honestly, NEVER AGAIN!!!
Frog Hollow Golf Club
Played On 09/12/2021Back to usual
Frog Hollow had some issues a couple years ago, but not anymore. The course is in above average shape and is very playable. The bunkers seem to be the only real issue I noticed this time around. ALL of them look like nothing has been done in well over a month. I guess if you don’t get in one it’s not a problem for you. I missed them all today, but all my playing partners had to either rake up a spot in the bunkers or just take it out of the bunker and not even mess with it.
I like the course and the fact they have kept the prices in check. They have done a great job with the rest of the course, but please spend some time and money on the bunkers. If that happens, 5 stars all the way!!!
Mountain Branch Golf Course
Played On 09/11/2021My once a year loop at Mountain Branch
Over an hour drive is the only reason not to play this course when you can . I always enjoy playing here because it gives you everything you need, want or could possibly be looking for in a corse.
We do have to start at the beginning. We checked in an hour early to be unfortunately told they have no range balls today.. After over an hour in the car, we had to kill another hour without any warming up . They do have a very , VERY large, multi level, undulating putting green to play around on. But no chipping at the putting green made for a long wait.
I’m sorry for not getting the starters name, but I watched him give clear instructions and the fact the the flags on holes 9, 11 and 18 were all flags and asked everyone to please respect our flag on this unfortunate anniversary.
The course is as I expected. 90% tee to green . A couple tee boxes ( I played the whites at just over 6100. 18 Hdcp. Shot 41-45 ) were below standards, as were a few areas in few fairways were rough around the edges, but I mean a few. I did get in 1 bunker today that looked sandy, but was quite firm underneath. I did notice a couple bunkers that looked like raked dirt. The greens here are fairly large with not to may flat putts on any green. They did roll similar to the putting green.
I understand prices are going up for everything. Thank you Golfnow for offering me and my friends to enjoy playing Mountain Branch for any discount you offer. Every dollar counts. Already looking forward to next year!!
Inniscrone Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2021Showing some wear, still always fun
I always enjoy playing Inniscrone a couple times a year, for about 15 or so. Only living half an hour away and a tough solid but fair layout is why. None of the holes are straight ahead. Even the shorter holes are not gimmies .
With a lot of recent rain, I expected things to be worse. Conditions are a bit off of what I have come to expect. A lot of hole placements hadn’t been moved in a while, and it was noticeable. Tees and fairways we’re 75%, but the greens were below par. ( not in a good way ) was lucky to avoid any bunkers today, but most seemed maintained. Very nice visuals at 11th tee box looking at the par 3 green. The backdrop to the green looked great today as the sun was shining right on it as we arrived. The 2 now grass bunkers along side the 15th green have come in nicely.
I recommend Inniscrone right now. I also recommend a GPS of some sort or at least some local knowledge. Catching a hot deal is always a plus.
Awesome! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Inniscrone Golf Club.
Pinelands Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2021I like it
Recent rain kept things soft and slow. 75-80% tee to green. Greens are nice and smooth. Not too many divots. Keep up the good work players! And keep up the good work Pinelands! Would recommend and will return.
Pilgrim's Oak Golf Course
Played On 08/21/2021Always worth the trip.
Not sure what to say that hasn’t been said before. Pilgrims is always worth the trip from anywhere. 80-85% tee to green. Some tee boxes on the back were moved up and in poor condition. I didn’t get in any bunkers today, but the rough was thick but fair. Greens were a little slow due to recent rain.
Centerton Golf Club
Played On 08/15/2021As expected +
Have played Centerton for about as long as I’ve been playing. 70-75% overall tee to green. This is the first place I can remember this year that had all the bunkers maintained with sand . Even the bigger ones looked very playable.
Played the tips today, just under 6300. Some Holes are tree lined, some wide open. A pond here or there, but basically flat. 116 slope from tips. Very playable for all levels. We generally come over to play once a year, and will do again.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are glad you had enjoyed your time at Centerton Golf Club, and pride ourselves on delivering the best experience possible. We hope to see you again soon!
Melrose Country Club
Played On 08/10/2021Fun track
I use to drive by this course often 12-15 years ago and finally had my opportunity to play JC Melrose today. Thank you Golfnow for a hot deal during the week that I couldn’t pass up.
6000 from the tips according to the card. That’s where I like to play, but decided to tee it forward to the whites posted a a little over 5700. It is unfortunate a lot of the tees were forward and shorter then posted. I’ll definitely play tips next time.
Overall 75-80%. Couple tee boxes and some fairways have issues, not much. The greens seemed to be slower then expected for a 90 degree day, but they are in solid condition. Most bunkers were maintained with nice sand, most. A lot of elevation changes, undulating fairways and greens throughout Melrose. Hole 3 and 4 are both about 140yard par 3s. The 4th hits over the entrance road to the course. 8 th hole par 3, 200 yards.A tree is starting to work it’s way into the front of the green. Only 1 par 3 in the back. 17. 185 on the card, played at 160 today.
Even tho the course was shorter then expected, I enjoyed playing and will be bringing my weekend 4some to play before the end of the season. Thanks again Golfnow for giving me the chance to play new course for me in my area.
The Club at Shannondell
Played On 07/30/2021WOW!!
Everything is 90%!! Tee boxes are full with little to none bare spots. Fairways and rough same way . Crew watering areas in direct sunlight. It was very pleasant to see a truly lush golf course.
Doglegs, doglegs, doglegs. 5 par 3s . 6000 yards from the tips.. Some tees and greens are close to on another. Bunkers are more miss then hit right now, but I did notice some new looking sand in a couple traps. Hopefully they are in process.
Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 07/20/2021Always one of the best in the area
Everything is lush at Deerfield right now. When you get a hot deal, even on a hot day in July, you take advantage!!
I’ve been playing well lately, but knew going in that my score would be going today. With very few flat lies ANYWHERE. On the course, Deerfield is a hard course for the average golfer to break 100. I shot 7-10 shots over my average today, but was completely happy to play here.
95% all around, even the bunkers! Gotta have 1 complaint, no water and the cart girl stopped an hour after we teed off at 1 . Definitely recommend and will definitely return. If you go,, bring your A+++ game and good luck!!
Delcastle Golf Course
Played On 07/18/20215 star customer service
Tricia and George, that’s for you. Above and beyond from the start!!
I’ve played Delcastle for what seems like forever. The course is in as good condition as I can ever remember. And the fact the bunkers actually have sand in them, and maintained, was nice to see. Tee to green is 90%. I’m glad it rained a bit overnight to slow the greens down a bit, that still were fast. No blue tees out. I play white at a little over 6300.
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back in the future.
Frog Hollow Golf Club
Played On 07/17/2021Back to normal
Frog Hollow is back to being near the top of my list of places to play. The course has come back strong from the problems of a couple years ago. Tee to green is 85%. The bunkers could still use some love. The toughest 6 finishing holes around. ( in my opinion.)
Patriots Glen Golf Club
Played On 07/13/2021Bunkers getting better
The bunkers are better then 3 months ago. That’s about it . Keeping greens longer then usual is understandable, but so many of them have other issues. No grass, burn marks, only mud. Also seemed the area around the cup was quite beat up. As if it’s been a while in the same spot The course is playable. . Fairways were 50-50. Just move your ball to a patch of grass
This awesome layout and an occasional hot deal will keep me coming back.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Patriots Glen National Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Reading Country Club
Played On 07/10/2021Review, part 2
It was a hot day. 12:50 tee time . We saw the cart girl once . Saw places for water jugs around the course, all were empty. Finished under 4 hours with some waiting on the back 9, so no problem with pace. The issue was we couldn’t get a drink or snack for the road. Snack counter was closed before 5 on a Saturday. Will absolutely return
Reading Country Club
Played On 07/10/20214 years later. Better then I remembered
Played here twice in a month 4 years ago and finally made the 75 minute trip to return. Fun, fun track!! Conditions were 90% tee to green. Bunkers were probably the best I’ve seen anywhere this year. ( I play once a week). Elevation changes all over the place. A creek winds thru 6-8 holes . Solid par 3s . Blind shots . Small FAST greens. I’ll be returning this year for sure!!!
