MESQUITE, Nev. -- With seven world-class golf courses, there's no shortage of spots to tee it up here in Mesquite.
But what to do after the round? Well, we're glad you asked.
Mesquite off course: Dining
The options for dining in Mesquite are plentiful -- just like the buffets at all the resorts. For specialty meals, check out Katherine's at CasaBlanca Resort and Casino for great steak and Italian meals, or head to the Purple Fez Bistro for a light snack or a family meal. At Eureka Casino Resort, the choice is Gregory's for a family get-together or that once-in-a-lifetime romantic evening.
Other options exist on the main strip in Mesquite, including the Playoff Sports Pub for those in search of wings and sports, and Mia's Mexican Restaurant.
Mesquite off course: Spas
Here's one for the ladies -- and some gentlemen. The CasaBlanca and Eureka resorts feature top-of-the-line spas. From facials to massages, bath treatments, manicures and pedicures, there are enough choices to satisfy your every spa need and desire. So sit back and relax. And if you're in Mesquite on vacation, take a little time to be pampered.
Mesquite off course: Entertainment
At the CasaBlanca, the Skydome Lounge offers guests a relaxing atmosphere as musicians play a wide variety of music. Feel like dancing? Step up to the floor and twirl the night away. In the showroom, Vegas-style entertainment is the name of the game, with tributes to acts such as Roy Clark and the Beatles. There's also regular comedy on Friday and Saturday nights. And best of all, the comedy shows are free. If a bigger show visits, such as comics Bill Engvall or Larry The Cable Guy, the action moves to the Events Center.
At the Eureka, the Seasons Lounge welcomes rising stars in the entertainment world. And sing and dance to country and western at the Virgin River's River Lounge.
Mesquite off course: Gaming
You didn't think we'd forget about the gaming? From Blackjack to poker, video poker, slots and sports betting, it's all here.
Mesquite off course: Bowling
With 52 lanes, expect no wait at Virgin River Hotel and Casino. Just grab your shoes and bowling ball –- shoe rentals are available, too -- and head out for an evening of fun. A snack bar, video arcade, bar and other amenities are right there. And if you still need to get your gamble on, the casino is right around the corner.
Mesquite off the beaten path
Get out and enjoy the fresh air with a hike or climb at Valley of Fire State Park. Amazing sandstone formations and stunning views welcome visitors. Whether it's a day-long hike or an overnight stay –- campsites are available -– you can take in the sites and solitude of this historic place.
"Mesquite tends to be the central hub for many natural attractions that surround us," said Cody Law, executive director of Golf Mesquite Nevada. "People come here to stay when they go to Brian Head, Zion National Park, Snow Canyon, Tuahcan, Valley of Fire, and many more."
A little culture
For those with artistic interests, check out the Mesquite Fine Arts Center and Gallery or the Virgin Valley Museum.
Time to relax
You can always take in a movie at the Redd Hills Cinema or the Stadium 6 Weststates Theatre. Or try a little shopping."There are plenty of boutique shops and small-town restaurants for everyone to enjoy," Law said.
We can't forget the golf. Those golf getaways keep the resorts full. The CasaBlanca Golf Club , Conestoga Golf Club , Falcon Ridge Golf Club , the Canyons course and Palmer course at Oasis Golf Club , The Palms G.C. , the Coyote Springs Golf Club and others offer a wide variety of challenges that entice you back for more.
So there you have it, a list of things to do and places to be that will help you plan your next Mesquite golf vacation.
"We have something for everyone here in Mesquite," Law said. "There's plenty to do for golfers and non-golfers alike. Every hotel offers swimming and video arcades for families to enjoy."
Sure, it's a golf paradise. But, it's so much more. Isn't it time you checked it out?
