While the PGA Tour stars were duking it out at the "new" Blue Monster at Trump National Doral Miami for the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship, the tour's working class squared off on The Donald's "other" tour venue, the 36-hole Trump International Golf Club, at the 2014 Puerto Rico Open, presented by seepuertorico.com.
You'll recognize many of the names in the field -- past major champions such as Lee Janzen, John Daly, David Toms, Y.E. Yang and Trevor Immelman -- and assorted former young guns Ricky Barnes, Danny Lee and Jamie Lovemark.
The tournament, in its seventh year on the island, is in the final year of its contract, with negotiations ongoing to return in 2015. Its economic impact is estimated at $22 million, although the beautiful ocean views shown on the Golf Channel and other networks while much of the Midwest and East Coast are covered in snow provide priceless exposure for the island's tourism, including its 22 golf courses.
