mogolf
a fun course to play. Has some challenging holes and a few risk-reward holes.
Good Value, Average Course
Despite low expectation, I was pleasantly surprised by this course. The spring rains have been good to the course, bringing greenness to fairways and roughs and keeping the greens in good shape. The grass was a little long, keeping putting speeds low, but they were soft enough to hold a few of my better shots.
Course layout is a jekyll & hyde with the front 9 being mainly wide open, while the back 9 starts to get narrow as it winds through the trees. Despite it's short length (only 6500 from the back tees) some blind shots and the undulating greens make for a moderate challenge.
My only complaint is the pace of play due to those who want to walk the course. With the hilly terrain, and poorly placed paths, walking can add extra time to the round. Because of this, the course should limit walking to early morning or afternoon rounds. Carts should be required during prime time. Additionally, the ranger should do a better job keeping pace up vs. just making sure folks adhere to the 90 degree rule.
Two very different 9-hole courses
The front 9 is open with challenging greens. The back 9 has some very narrow fairways and seems to be longer. There's a 249 yd par 3 on the back, and that's from the white tees! Plus a couple of long par fours. Overall I'd say it a very challenging course, it will test all your skills.
Mooresville golf
Good course. I was a single placed with a very nice couple. The company was great. I played this course over 30 years ago but only remembered a few holes. Number 7 might be a little too close to HWY.
Had a great time.
Started on Senior tees but they were too close so I moved back to white tees after three holes. Doubled both final two holes and shot 87, Typical Donald Ross, don't go over greens or you' all pay s price. Considering how much play a muni gets and time of year (still many brown areas, the course was challenging to this mid-level player). Greens had some pie but putted very consistently. Overall a good time on a beautiful day.
Great for all skill levels
The course was wet after rains the day before.
Very generous fairways . A good course for every skill level.
Some challenging holes.
Pace of play was slow
Great layout.
Greens seemed to have just been sanded, but still rolled true. Overall a good experience. Pace of play was good considering the crowd. Would definitely recommend and play there again.
nice layout
We played on a Saturday at noon. It was our first time playing here and we really liked the layout of the course. Some easy holes and some challenging tee shots on the back nine. The greens was long and slow with some weeds growing on them. Made for some tuff putting. But altogether we had a good time and enjoyed playing somewhere different.
This course has terrible greens.
Greens were so long and bumpy, like putting on plush carpet.
Nice Layout.........Course in Poor Codition
On most fairways there was NO grass. The greens were over grown and extremely bumpy. There was no ranger on the course. Three players playing with two bags. Chipping area in front Club House was covered in Duck excrement.
looks "rough"
Everything was brown of course. The whole course had been nearly flooded from the recent rain and snow. Hard to say what it will look like in a month or two. Every shot was a tight lie and very hard to hit. I will try it again later in the year.
Good value
Nice course, greens pretty good for time of year, bent grass. Rest of course is bermuda so it's dormant and like hitting off a cart part. Bunkers need to be maintained better. Overall a nice track and a good value...am curious to see the condition when the bermuda comes in and the heat hits the bent greens.
Mooresville
Good course in average condition. Several holes that require accurate shot making or you will have a big score,
Greens are Challenging
Mooresville is not a long course, but the greens make up for it. The speed and undulations make putting quite difficult, especially when your above the hole. The overall layout is good, with a mix of up hill, down hill, left to right and right to left hole shapes. Fairways and rough are only average. 17 & 18 are strong closing holes. Reasonable priced course worth a round with your friends.
Great features
For an average player this is a great course to play on. I found the greens to be in good shape as the same to most of the fairways. Some of the holes are a real challenge to par. A good value compaired to some other courses in the area.
The Greenskeeper knows his stuff !!
This course was in great shape and for a city course is very nice. Enjoyed 18 with my son and played in a little more than 3 hours. If you are looking for a good bargain and a challenging back nine that is tight and requires good course management, this is your course !
Alright if you're in the area
Maintained well but greens are extremely sloping. You just can't sink a put. On normal courses where you would end up 8 inches past...here you end up 10 feet or off the green past.
This is a great, well maintained municipal course!
The staff is very friendly and helpful, they have a great putting, chipping and Sand Trap practice area as well as a very moderately priced driving range. The course has several very challenging holes and the Greens are well maintained.
Not on Thursday!
Just discovered this track last week. Fun course well maintained. Unfortunately, women's league on Thursday morning. Nothing against women golfers, play with my wife all the time. These ladies are s..l..o...w, course allows them to go out in 5's, no stroke limit and no courtesy offered when whole holes open ahead. I will definitely be back, just not on Thursday morning.
Very Well kept this late in season.
Def recommend this course to anyone. I have played here since I was little and never seen it in this good of condition.
