Great public course. Playing Blue tees opens up for more of a challenge because greens are for the most part small. greens rolled out nicely.
Great condition. Greens roll out nicely. Small target makes you hit quality shots to look to birdies. fairways are not destintive as you might like but had descent lies when staying in fairways. Short holes,so we play from blues to open up for longer iron play.Great value and can get on course very easily.
It's a good thing we only payed $13...regulars are rude.
We drove and hour to try this course and had the first tee time of the morning which apparently that didn't sit well with the "friday regulars". They quickly began to push us on hole one and we were keeping an above average pace of play. The pro shop attendant caught us on hole 6 or 7 and asked if we'd let them play through (guess they called him?) because apparently they generally do not even finish the hole if it worse than a birdie. The worker apologized for them, but you could tell he wanted to make sure they were kept happy since they were regulars. We said ok which now caused us to be in the middle of three foursomes all playing their own makeshift tournament. They were leaving markers on greens for the other groups and pushing us. Not fun. We held our ground and on the back nine, so they started jumping holes and playing around us and others.
All in all we liked the openness of the course. Even the long par 4's were short though. If you don't have t deal with the friday morning make shift tournament than i would say play it. It would be a great course for a beginner or someone trying to work out their irons.
Outstanding golf for the money!
I am from out of state. Came down to visit daughter. Wanted to to find a reasonable course to take my wife who just started playing. Wasn't expecting too much. I was very surprised. It is an excellent course. Fairways were very well maintained, greens also. Staff was very accommodating. This is great golf for the value.
Small greens require great shot placement
Great practice or a fun place to enjoy round of golf
Overall good value
Good course, greens were very good fariways in good condition although might be cut a little shorter than need be
Great value!
The Mac has tight fairways and small greens compared to other courses in the area. Even though the course is a little shorter than others it can be more challenging. Love this course and the staff has always been great as well.
Good Price
We were able to get a 7:45 tee time on Saturday for 12 bucks. now thats a good rate. The fairways are still brown. The greens were ok but tiny and fast. Met some new friends Joe, Eric and Jacob who were fun to play golf with. joe and eric were put with us because they booked the same time. I did not know they could do that but it turned out to be fun.
a value-able challenge
Even a week before the first day of winter the green were soft although challenging in their slope. the course is deceptive in its layout. What looks to be simple straight shot can test every thing in your bag. You should bring your A+ short game and your hottest putter for best results.
Fun course
Really fun little course. A lot of the tee shots on the back really require some accurate shots. For the time of year we played the course was in good condition and greens were very playable. Enjoyed it very much and have already booked another round there.
This course can be a challenge.
This is an above average public course. A pro would find it easy but enjoyable to play. Average golfers would really find it a challenge. It has some tight tree-lined fairways that ask for a straight drive, but you can also make par if you don't hit it straight and still make a really good second shot. If a player hits the ball long and straight he/she could shoot a really low score. The fairways are in great shape, and most of the greens are excellent. I would recommend this course to any type of player. It is arguably the best course for the money in Rowan County.
good for a high handicapper
This course is maintained well . The staff are friendly and it's a fair value for the money .
It's a short course and relatively easy , but , you still have to get the ball in the hole .
