Greens were fantastic
Played this round as a single but I really enjoyed it. Course layout was awesome. Greens were in fantastic condition, fairways and teeboxes were just ok. I plan on playing here again
Friendly
great people, food, and some of the best greens around. Today, pace of play was a bit slow due to a foursome doing some on course teaching. No fault of ycc. Sara in the pro shop is top notch. Always enjoy our time there.
Revamped
If you haven't played this course in a few years...give it a try..greens great shape..fairways best in years..tee boxes and bunkers still need attention..cart paths horrible. But a fun course to play..will test every part of ur game!!!
Average course. Fantastic greens.
Played this course for the first time since new management and was pleasantly surprised. Greens are in excellent condition, fairways and tee-boxes need slight work but are good enough. The worst part is the cart path, totally needs to be re-done, but other than that the course itself is definitely worth the price. Great place for beginners!
New owner is making great improvements
Great course for the money, so much better with the new owner,, if you played here over 3 years ago and said you would never go back ( like me ) give it another chance,, course is in much better shape and the staff is amazing.
Eh
No big deal. If you want to just go hit balls I guess it's ok. Tee-boxes were grown in, greens were ok. If you have ANY back problems be very careful....no where is safe.
If your looking for a cheap round, I guess this will do.
Fun course to play
Hard to play the ball down on this course, as there are some bare spots in places. Roll the ball a bit and enjoy the round, as the greens roll nicely and there’s a variety of shots you have to play throughout the round.
A Tale of Two Courses
I really want to like this course, but it's so up-and-down that I can't really tell if I do or not. The bunkers on some hole were like hitting out of damp clay, but others were raked and fluffy. Some tee boxes were manicured well, others were overgrown. Some fairways are tight, and the greens were pretty slick for November golf, although one or two greens were nicked up with golfers not repairing divots, along with some greens patched with large swaths of sod. There were a few times where I had to kick some leaves off the tee box so I had an area to hit off of. A quick use of a leaf blower would've gone a long way. Also, there was ash in a fairway bunker on 18, like someone set up a campfire in it. Was really bizarre.
Great course but very slow
Course and greens were in fantastic condition, only problem was pace of play. There was a 5 ball 3 groups in front of Us that wouldn’t let anyone play through. Front 9 took almost 3 hours. Group behind us gave up after 9 holes. We played 2 holes on the back 9 before driving past 3 groups and played the last few holes with no one in front for at least 3 holes.
Better every time
New management continues making improvements. Greens are smooth and hold shots well. Slow, but so is everyone's when it is 90+. Great set of par 3s. From the back tees today 223, 182, 185, and 149 yards. The complaints i see are a bit overkill to me: the few bad spots in the fairways (and they are becoming considerably fewer) don't matter because the ball rolls through it. (IF) you end up here, move it a foot or 2). Played the ball down all day and never had a bad lie in the fairway. The other complaint is always cart paths; yes they are rough but watch where you're going and avoid the rough spots! Have to credit the staff on how much improvement they have made and continue to work on.
Very Relaxing Round
It was a great day of golf with no one pushing the pace of our game. I haven’t experienced that in a CV long time. Only complaint were the cart paths. They were hard to follow and very broken up.
Course Conditions
The cart paths are the worse paths I have ever driven on. Tree roots and wash outs have ruined the cart paths. There are many areas where golfers are ruining the grass because they have to drive around the bad cart paths. There are also a lot of bare spots on the fairways and sand bunkers are dirt and hard pan. I was glad to see they are working on the 18th fairway. It will be interesting to see how the sod sets and grows.
A relaxed day at Yadkin CCl
Greens very receptive in excellent shape. Cart paths and sand traps need some attention
