Cape May National Golf Club
About
Cape May National Golf Club, also known as simply the National, is a favorite among both New Jersey natives and visitors. The club has roots that date back to the 1800s when it was known as Cape May Country Club. The peacefully secluded golf course is nestled amidst mature woodlands, surrounding one of the largest private bird sanctuaries in New Jersey. The scenery is beautiful but don't let that distract you. There are plenty of challenges to keep you on your toes, including tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and several water hazards. There are a few blind shots that make Cape May National Golf Club especially tricky if playing it for the first time. The classic design is a fair test but it's player-friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels.

Nice
Ice melted quickly! gave us issues about getting more ice. Should allow coolers when over 95 degrees
This course is in great condition
Great condition, the greens are great ,the fairways are in good condition, I only wish they would have a ranger for the course to speed up slow play other than that I highly recommend playing tdhis course.
Great Round
We played at 3:00 on Friday... Course was in Great shape and quick pace of Play. Would definitely come back!
Cape May National
First time playing course. Overall, the course was in pretty good condition. The course is fairly long at 6900 yards but tight. It's a nice course to play but not for $89.
Maybe the best greens in South Jersey
Played from the back. Fairways were tight, course was in very good shape. Not overly watered. Greens were rolling very well, and true. Its fun to play when the greens are rolling like that. Love the natural beauty here.
Cape may golf course
This was the 2nd time playing at cape may and it took over 5 hours to play, no rangers on the course to speed up play. I played mid afternoon and wasn't able to finish my round due to darkness I am very dissatisfied w playing at cape may national and will never play there again
Do not play after 3
I was very disappointed in this course for many reasons 1. No cart girl when your on vacation and want to enjoy a round of golf with my 2 Older sons I want refreshment available on the course 2. Every water cooler on the course was very warm water.
If you are not going to supply a cart person be sure your water coolers have cold water for your players.
Or let customers allowed to bring a cooler of there own if they will not supply one .
I played this course last summer on vacation and had a better time this year I would stay away. Course was in average condition.
Cape May CC
I love Cape May CC, played it for the first time this year in August. Course was a little burnt out, but it was the middle of the summer. Love the layout, I think it is the best value for Public courses in the Jersey shore/Route 9 corridor. Prefer it much more than Sand Barrens, and Avalon, and its a far better value than Shoregate.
Course was in great shape!
Course was in GREAT shape for late July! Always challenging!
Nice Course
I enjoyed the course. I found it a bit tough. The fairways were a little tight and there isn't much room for error. I lost three balls. The greens were in really great shape as well. Fast and true. Beautiful surroundings with no homes in sight.
While I enjoyed it, it is a long trip to get there (Exit 3 on GSP). I'm not sure I would drive 1.5 hours again to play it again.
scenic course
beautiful course love the layout each hole more scenic then the next
Great setting.
Some holes fairly tight but if you keep it in play you can score well. Helps to know the yardages. The greens are soft but putts rolls out well. The only problem we had was the cart mounted GPS did not function. Probably just our cart. Overall I really enjoyed the layout.
Never again
Tee times too close together - took almost 5 hours to play 14 holes. We quit after that. Waited on every hole to tee off and for fairway shots. Yes it was a holiday weekend but it would have taken over 6 hours to play 18 holes. Ridiculous.
Fast greens, lots of water
The last time I played this course it was a real challenge due to the tall dry grasses off every fairway. It's been cut down though, and now it's lush green rough so it's a lot easier to find your ball. If you're wild off the tee like I am, you'll still lose a few balls in the water hazards that come into play on at least 12 holes. The greens were in excellent condition and very fast. The course layout lends itself to walkers. My biggest complaint is that the bunkers were in poor shape. It rained 2 days before our round but many of them still had standing water in them and none had been raked. Also the water coolers set out on the course were warm, which is unpleasant on a hot day.
Nice course
It's a great layout. The course needs to some work, there was a lot of dry spots on the course when I played. The staff was great and friendly and the pace of play was great. Yes I would play here again.
Very nice course
Course was very well taken care off. The pace of play was awful. Our group left after 5 and half hours, and we were only at the tee box of hole #14.
Great condition, Cool layout
The greens and fairways are in great shape. The water and blind approach shots make it unique without being overly difficult. My go to course in the area
Superior course.
Went out of my way to play this course after having researched the area. I wasn't disappointed. The course conditions were excellent and pace of play decent considering there was a match play tournament out on the course when i arrived. After initial hesitancy, the starter let me out the back and I ended up paired up with a member and that made it a pleasant round. i would definately play this course again and would recommend it to others.
