Turtle Creek Golf Course
About
Formerly known as Greenville Country Club, Turtle Creek Golf Course has been around since 1921, making it one of the area's oldest courses. Despite its long history, the relatively unknown course is known as one of the Miami Valley's best-kept secrets. It has a traditional layout that sprawls across acres of lush countryside, situated just outside of Greenville. The landscape is fairly wooded, requiring a bit of accuracy in order to maneuver through some of the narrow openings provided by the trees. There is a stream meandering across the golf course that comes into play on several holes. A few strategically placed bunkers also lurk around some of the greens. Turtle Creek Golf Course is player friendly enough for beginners but it is still an interesting round for more advanced players.

One Unlucky Guy
Played TC numerous times this summer hoping to see an improvement in player etiquette and course management. Has not happened, yet.
Slow play due to 5 and 6 players with 3 carts in a group. Groups starting on back nine and the groups making the turn from the front nine have to wait. Single Player on back nine playing only three holes over and over, and wanting to play through! I have seen as many as 5 groups on the same hole! These are some of the same issues that existed when TC was GCC. Some improved course management would go a long way.
Small Town Course;Big Time Value!
The course was in good condition, with the greens just mowed. The tree-lined fairways and hazards make the course quite a challenge.Small greens provide an additional difficulty.
Rolling hills and water throughout make this a beautiful course.
The course was in great shape with variety in length of fairways and slope of the greens. Many holes were challenging because the greens were not visible from the tee and water was present on many holes. The sand traps were in excellent shape with soft, deep, well raked bunkers. Play was paced well and the on-site restaurant was very nice. We would play here again.
Decent Course
Course lush and in pretty good shape, lots of people that don't know how to fix balls marks or divots though.
Fabulous
Nice course layout with some interesting holes. Extremely well maintained. Fairways, greens and bunkers were perfect. Great restaurant with a menu for golfers making the turn - good food at a great price. Staff is super friendly and it's clear that they take great pride in their operation. They should!
Need Rangers
Overall, the golf course was beautifully maintained. My three main concerns are the pace of play, having to wait for someone to turn in a cart in order to start to play, and no drink carts.
The pace of play was probably due to the lack of rangers to manage the course traffic. The pace of play was excruciatingly slow. The front took 2:45 minutes and the back took a little over 3 hours.
As far as the course goes, I would have preferred the greens to be a little bit faster, but that may be caused by sprinkling on and off early in the round. On the frontside, some of the tees and greens are very tight and verge on the side of being unsafe. The course felt a little short to me, but when I paired up I moved to the white tees to play with the group. All in all, this private club turned public, was a nice place to play for the price (approx. 18 at 2pm on a Saturday). Hopefully when I return, the pace of play is better.
not a challenging course
The course was in good shape, but there are no challenging holes. The course was very busy. Too many people were skipping holes and jumping past people causing the play to be even slower.
Not a bad course for someone that wants any easier course to play.
Country Club Manicurred
This is a beautiful, exceptionally well maintained course. At this time of year you usually see a lot of brown on the course, but not this one. There is a stream that wanders throughout the course that can be a bit tricky on many of the approaches to the green, but at the same time it allows you to be challenged as many of the greens have an interesting slope to be dealt with once you are on.
This would be a course that I would definitely recommend. It truly is a hidden treasure.
This place is great !!!!
I have played this course three times in two weeks. I would say it's not a very hard course but great condition. The staff is excellent and food is fantastic.
Great day
Turtle creek is always in imaculate condition. I had a 7:50am tee time on a Friday and didn't see another group until the 16th hole. This is the best course in Darke County.
great condition
Great course.very friendly staff.had a great time playing this course .
Beautiful course!
This course is very beautiful and well maintained. The greens are in excellent condition.
Good & No So Good
The course is well maintained and makes you play your "A" game. It is a beautiful, fun course to play and challenging. Only two detriment's; It is hard to find a flat spot on the tee boxes, they need some work, and; The greens are far too slow. They are probably the slowest in the county, certainly the slowest of the dozen or so courses I've played this year..
Worth the drive!
Turtle Creek is an awesome place to play. The course is in excellent condition, and the layout is challenging yet accessible to players of all skill levels. All the staff members were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Though it is a bit out of the way, you owe it to yourself to try out this great course!
Nice course
Great course. Nice greens. Well kept. Bring your "A" game.
Private to public
Just awesome. Great condition. Best course I have played on. I love the obstacles such as narrow fairways. Only to downers. No long par fours. Only one long par five. And maybe two ball cleaners throughout the whole 18 holes. But other than that. Just awesome.
Good variety
This course has good variety with some longer more open holes that give you room to hit your driver and shorter tight wooded holes with elevation changes for your irons.
what a great course!
Always loved this course, used to be a country club-pool, tennis, food etc.. Now no pool, no tennis, but still a good bar, food, staff and great course. A little more expensive than in the past, but really a bargain. they have, or used to have, a thirsty thursday, 20 bucks for 18 w/cart, 1 dollar beers. Also a Monday special . We really love this course, challenging, beautifully maintained, good attitude by all staff, just a pleasure. Never overcrowded, always in good shape. We are liucvky to have so many nice courses in the area.
Enjoyed playing there would recommend it to others
Good value And good course to play for any type of golfer friendly and challenging. With some long holes
Just aerated, Very nice course.
I called the course before I played. I wish they would have mentioned the aerated greens. This is a fun course to play. Many holes are tight with tree lined roughs. There were some inconsiderate golfers cutting in and out of holes. They would drive in front of you while you were making a shot.
For the $9.00 I paid I will put up with the aeration.
