I am speechless...
Normally I try and keep an open mind when it comes to courses but this little display of garbage was too much. Charging $29 for the way course looked was way too much and the course never seemed to realize this is was an issue. You honestly have to reduce the prices to gain more of a customer base. I can truly say that the 40 minute drive I took from Columbus just wasn’t worth it. PLEASE fix this course, it used to be a beautiful place to play and that’s what I thought I was getting today but I stand to be corrected.
the course layout was fine but some of the fairways had washed away leaving a huge band of mud across them. Played the front i 1 1/2 hours got behind 3 older gentlemen that would not let us through on the back, It really dragged.
Some of the fairways had completely washed away, nothing but mud. The greens were hard as rocks had to play everything short. Could be a very nice layout but needs help, never been to a course where the carts looked like they were bought used and then beaten up.Played the front in 1 1/2 hours got behind 3 older gentle men who would not let us go through. This is off my list.
Challenging long course
Great lay out out in the country. Real fairways not just mown in fescue.
Not over crowed on July 4th.
Condition was excellent except a couple burnt spots from standing water in the past.
One hole had a sprinkler line leaking short left off the tee but I expect it will be fixed soon.
I will be back to play this again. !
Fun course, sidehill lies, not a straight putt on the course
Challenging course with all the sidehill lies and difficult putts. It seemed like all of my iron shots i was hitting off a sidehill lie. Putting was challenging as it seemed like all the greens are sloped in way way or another.
The course had about 7" or rain in the last week so some of the holes fairways were washed out. Was affected by a few shots with soggy iron shots or drives into soggy areas, but just treated them as ground under repair for the most part.
Some of the teeboxes needed some attention and work. The fairway definition with the rough looked great almost looked edged, keep up the good work with Fairway/rough mowing.
Will try and play again this year after i improve my sidehill lie and putting big breaking putts.
All things considered...
Indian Springs is an excellent value.
The greens superintendent and staff have consistently improved the condition of the course over the last three years. Players could help them out by repairing their ball marks on the green.
Our threesome played in 3 hours and 38 minutes even though we never hit a green in regulation and had one guy that would look at his putts from ever angle. Generally he made the fourth one.
Played on a Thursday afternoon in September and it was like having our own personal golf course! Most fairways have ample width, but still easy enough to get in trouble if you are not hitting it straight. Greens were hard and fast, but putted fairly true. There were a couple of pins located where it was difficult to get to them or stop the ball from rolling off the green. This course is fairly hilly and would not be all that easy to walk, even for the young, flat bellies! Many approach shots are uphill and the greens are surrounded by rough, so you must carry the ball onto or very near the green. There are ample bunkers to avoid and some water to hit over, but neither are overwhelming. There are four sets of tees and it is a very stout course from the tips at 7072. Blue is 6688, white is 6121 and the gold measures at 5348. Those distances will play longer with the uphill approaches to the greens. The pro shop is small but appeared to be adequately staffed and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is a large room with a snack bar but did not check it out or eat there. Bottom line, a very enjoyable round on a very nice golf course. We will definitely play it again!
Worth the drive
We usually play here once a year, driving from Dayton. It is worth the drive. Course was in good to great shape, better than most public courses. Greens rolled true, fairly fast. Great layout and if you like to play in a natural setting away from housing and roads this is the place to go. Overall a great experience, my group agrees to keep this course in our rotation for next year.
Very nice public course just a few miles west of Columbus. You won't find many nicer courses in this price range.
Played Monday morning 8:00 Am tee time. Beautiful but chilly morning. Upon arrival the gentleman working told me and my playing partner that they were top dressing the greens and if we wanted to get out in front of it we should go now. So we tee'd off around 7:40. Well we did not beat the grounds crew and had to play through a little bit of sand. Even with the sand the greens were fast and true. Great round !!!
Played white tees...6100 yards. Greens were very nice, rolled true and receptive to approach shots. Fairways and tees were in good shape except for #4 fairway. Slope rating is moderate but the course plays much tougher from blue and black tees. Several traps were washed out from recent rains but most traps were in good shape. Will definitely play here again.
Great place to play
Perfect weather, near perfect conditions, fast undulating green, bunkers were in great shape with exception of the few that were closed, rough was deep enough to give some thought, and overall the fairways were in great shape (with a few bare spots due to watering or rain). Overall a great place to play.
Great Value - Bring your own water!
Played Indian Springs on a Friday afternoon, Skies clear 86 degrees. Pace of play was good, Greens were hard and fast. No Water, drink cart or restrooms on the course? For a Kidwell design course in this good of condition you would think the facilities would be a little more friendly. I played with a client as this was half way between offices and was a little embarrassed that we had to suffer through the last 5 holes with nothing to drink. Food at the turn was mediocre at best. Golf was great, overall experience was average. Next time take client elsewhere, Otherwise a great value for the buck.
Haven't played Indian Springs for 3-4 years. Sadly it has further deteriorated. I loved the layout 15 years ago. Yesterday the signature holes were sad. Lake on par 3 8th nothing but overgrown lily pads. 10 and 11 also, and growth out of lake obstructs aiming points on 10. Greens are very slow and signature 16th hole has no fairway. Dirt and mud. Sad. Worst was way to finish. They let a bunch of garbage grow up just short and right of final hole. Problem is that you can't see it from fairway and severe slope of fairway from left to right funnels balls short of green down into this growth. Left a very bad taste in my mouth and not want to return. Sad to see a pretty course go this way.
Wish I could putt
The greens are the best in town. Quick and smooth. When you putt the ball stays on the carpet and doesn't bounce. Wish I putted better and my round would have been better.
The course layout is challenging but not so tough you are losing balls every 2-3 holes.
We played the course on a 90 degree day, but we have had all this rain and the course was soaked. We were surprised that carts were out, let alone not cart path only except for 2 holes (#3 & #4). Considering the wet conditions, the course was in good shape and the greens were pretty fast. There are some challenging holes, some blind tee shots so course management or course knowledge is helpful.
A little wet
Was the time to play this course. Was very wet with all the rain this year. Was nice, fairways just cut. Greens was fast and true. Would like to play again after it is dries out
Very rainy had course to self
The pro shop attendant was terrific. The course for the amount of rain we have all had lately was in great condition and challenging.
Love This Golf Course
i love the ups and downs of the hills on this course. I took my 13 year old son to play here for the first time and he loved it. I recommend this course.
