great value
Really well maintained.
Greens were in great shape.
Relatively shorter course.
Many basic straight forward holes. but a couple of unique ones.
Worth playing again.
Beautiful area
It's a very nice golf course with a beautiful view on 16th tee! Offers a nice 19th hole sitting area.
Great course, excellent condition!!!!
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. Very well maintained! Would recommend to anyone out there looking for a great round of golf. You won't be disappointed with this course.
A great day at THE HAWK
The HAWK is in the best shape it has been in years; what a turn around for this golf course. It is obvious that a lot of hard work and TLC has been put into the course over the past few years. KUDOS to the Staff and Management!!
Decent Course
Nice Course near Reading, PA. The rough made it more challenging. Fairways were nice shape.
it has improved much over the last 2 years
Good for the money. There was not a first cut. You were either in the fairway or the deep rough.
The fairways are perfect and cut to the right length
I thought this course was really nice, a challenging course with a nice staff.
Great Value
The course was in great shape and not very full for a sunny Saturday morning. Greens had just been plugged recently so that was the only downside but you can't take anything away from the course for that. The people there were very friendly and pace of play was excellent. I would play again.
Bryon m
Defenately worth the 40 mins to play.
Years past I would probably play the hawk once or twice a year.
From seeing the course in it's worse state come back to life I plan on bringing the foursome back.
Could only do 9 holes
I arrived 20 minutes early, but was informed that I couldn't play 18 holes because they have a 5 p.m. scramble that will involve all 18 holes.
The starter was very apologetic for the late notice. I was perfectly satisfied to just play 9 holes.
Did not honor Golf Now Pricing
I had reservation through golfnow.com for 25.00 with a cart. When I checked in, the staff said the price was 30.00. I showed them the golf now receipt and they said there is nothing they can do. The price on the board is 30.00 and that is the price, no discussion.
Extremely poor customer service.

Bring cash because right now they don't take the card! Good course that makes you plan your play.
great for the price
got hot deal for $12.00, greens were slow but we been having rain for a while, course is coming around from the harsh winter, for the price of the hot deals it's well worth the money,
Incredible for last day of november
For the last day of November the course was fairly busy. I had a tee time around noon so I was the last round to tee off that I could tell. Pace was just fine. Finished in less than 4 hours. Course was in great shape. Very few leaves down, which this time of year is a challenge. Greens fast and hard, but temps near freezing.
Challenging course, but well worth the trip
Greens challenging, in great shape
After years of neglect, the Hawk is in good shape again. Greens are in great shape, bunkers with new sand, all carts have windshields now,
While the course is not country club conditions, it is in really good shape.
You have to be playing well to score well here due to the sloping greens. It is a fun course to play and I will be back
FAIRWAYS IN GOOD SHAPE,FRING GASS LONG
FAIRWAYS IN GOOD SHAPE,FRING GRASS LONG, DUE TO RAIN. OVERALL, A GOOD EXPERIENCE
Well maintained !
First time this year that we played The Hawk. Have never seen this course in such good shape. Greens had just been aerated so the putting was a little askew but the fairways were magnificent! (not that I got to play in them often) We played at 2 pm and were not pushed or held up at all. I can't wait to play this course again!
Course was okay.
Our car was broken into in the parking lot and wallet was stolen from car. Staff seemed unaffected by it and didn't even express that they were sorry.
Needs TLC.
The greens were too slow for my taste and there too many areas where the grass was thin. The bunkers were hard at the bottom. The facility/buildings are in need of improvement.
Great course, but needs attentive starters/rangers.
My review is based off of my personal experience on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Got a great deal on Golfnow and drove up to Denver from Philly (over an hour). When I got there I was immediately greeted by a friendly girl who got me on a cart quickly. That's when things got a little strange.
She instructed me to go out by myself, behind a two-some and in front of a single. Where is the logic in that? The two-some in front of me was downing beers on every hole despite the clearly non-enforced no-alcohol policy (I noticed because I kept catching up to them), so I waited for the single behind me to catch up so we could make a two-some and keep things moving. Finally on about the 9th hole, we caught up to a different two-some...a father/son pair (the drinkers must have skipped over to ten) who kindly waved us through. We went straight over to ten only to be met by *another* different twosome waiting to tee off!! This twosome jumped holes because there was an outing going on earlier and they didn't want to get stuck behind them. They told us they only had three holes left so we went ahead and teed off on ten (as the newly formed foursome). When we get to the 11th tee, the father from the father/son pair that waved us through runs up to the tee box and starts cursing us out for joining a foursome after he waved us through. I really was at my wits end, because had there been rangers driving around or a starter that actually put people together, I wouldn't have had to be the target of this guy's rage. Rain was on the horizon and so myself and my partner kept moving along until we caught up to the drinkers on hole 16. I was in no mood to wait behind them so I kindly asked to let us play with them so that we all wouldn't get stuck in the rain. Drinker #1 responded (clearly very annoyed that I interrupted his drinking session) "Why? It's not going to rain for another couple of hours!". I started laughing because I had just about had enough of the course and its share of cranky golfers. We played one hole with them (they were hacking the ball all over the place, and I'm surprised they could drive a cart after all those beers) before they scooted off to leave us alone (rain started coming down).
All in all, I had a horrible experience at this course. It would have been nice if rangers were roaming around to help assist some of these situations or if a starter was there to properly introduce players and pair them up (and check carts for alcohol). My only qualm with the course itself was that all of the greens were aerated and I wasn't made aware of that before playing.
