Reading Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Always a good time
Reading continue to offer a great inexpensive round of golf. The setting is nice and everyone has always been friendly. I'll continue to be a regular customer
Great course
Great course! Not long but challenging. Greens were slower than normal. No water on course. No beverage cart on course. Hot day! No indoor amenities available after round. Enjoyed the day but seems very understaffed.
Great conditions for how hot and dry it has been. Friendly staff. Beautiful course. Will be back.
Historic gem
Course conditions are so very very good right now. The greens had some issues at the end of last year but they are back! Don’t let the 6200 yard distance from the tips fool ya, plays much longer. Tough challenging par 3s.
Hilly course, tight in spots, but fun to play
The course is not long, but don't let that fool you as the elevation changes make it play longer than yardage. Some blind shots may surprise you, so it may be best to play it for the first time with someone who has already played there. My favorite thing about the course is a beautiful creek that seems to run through at least a third of the course. Driving accuracy is key here, but bigger hitters may need to leave driver in the bag on some holes.
Don't let the Yardage Fool You
This is a great old course with a beautiful stream that runs through what seems like more than half the course. There are some blind spots due to elevation changes and dog legs, so it may be best to play with someone who has played their prior to you. The course plays longer than the yardage because many of the holes play dead uphill. I would not recommend walking it because of the hills and the course layout. Fun course with lots of history.
RCC
Very nice course especially the greens. Would definitely return for another round.
RCC
Wish they had water tanks playing in temps in high 80’s close to 90 there weren’t any water stations open. Course was challenging rolling hills but definitely fun. When I arrived it looked like I had the course to myself but some how that didn’t work out some how I (solo player) got stuck in traffic behind a bunch of groups that were hitting multiple balls per hit . No Ranger to help with pace of play. Besides that great course and definitely worth the money!
course is coming back after last year
The course had some issues late last year with the conditions which was out of character. It's better now although not all the way back. It's a great course that really tests your accuracy off the tee.The par 3s are really tough especially the uphill 8th. Due to recent rain the rough is thicker and higher than ever so don't miss the short grass.
RCC was awesome
Course was in excellent shape and a very challenging layout. Many elevation changes make it play far longer than the listed card yardage. Very challenging par 3s from the blue tees. I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
Love my sticks
Course was in good shape for time of the year, especially with issues on & around the club in the past 6 months.
Pace of play was super & staff were very friendly!
greens iffy but coming back
have played mant times and totally enjoy the track a few greens are iffy but they are coming back.....for pleasure golf they are fine.....I will not ,not play because of greens.....the rest of the course make up for it
