Glenbrook
It was a misty day but the greens were excellent. Very good roll to them. No complaints v
Nice course.
Played for the first time and really enjoyed course. Water on only one hole. Most holes have a good sized fairway and par 3s are fairly interesting. Saw only 3 homes on entire course, so quite pretty. Entire course, especially greens were in great shape.
Great time
Very well maintained friendly staff great for all ability levels for men and women. Will play it again for sure!
Undulating, challenging
Greens roll true, fantastic panoramic, lots of character on the back 9. Thumbs up!
First round of the year
Course was in great shape. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was good.
nice course
Great weather for a November 18 hole day. Greens were soft and fairways were clear of leaves.
Sunday PM Outing
Day was gorgeous, but my game has a lot of problems. Course itself was different. Lots of blind shots as mentioned in other reviews. Lost a lot of balls. A couple of interesting holes, one, where you tee off over the road right in front of you. Not a busy road, but you do have to be aware of vehicles. The other two interesting holes parallel each other and the same road splits the fairways. No traffic protection so beware of your ball flight. Only drawback was the gnats in your face.
mnm at Glen Brook
Had a very nice time golfing with my wife. This was only our second Pocono golf course as we live an hour away. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rolling hills, interesting terrain, and beautiful scenery. The greens were in great shape and their contours demanded attention when lining up your putt! Forward family tees are great for juniors. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We hope to visit again when we are in the area.
golfing Stroudsburg PA
I'll go back..............................................................................
greens nice
Course in good shape for end of Aug. Greens soft bring ball mark repair. Bev cart on strike no water jugs.
Nice course cross a busy street
The course is in good shape. It is a little challenge to play here first time due to lots of blind shot. The most challenge part is to hit over a busy street twice and driving golf car cross the street with cars driving by.
Worth a try!
Lots of blind shots from the tee and approach but the course was in great condition, pace of play was good and the staff was very friendly. Would not play again on the weekend coming from NJ as the Rt 80 traffic backed up 5 miles before the bridge and once in PA we crawled 4 miles to the course exit. Weekdays would be the best time to travel to course from NJ.
Average course but worth for the money
The course is arranged very close to each other. Sometime is making confusion about which faiway is yours. It's crossover offenly. Couple of holes is fairly challenge. With amount of charge is worth plus very convenient location(close to Route 80)
Course knowledge
The course was difficult to find. Many holes over a busy road. A lot of blind shots where you really needed course knowledge. Very small greens on many holes. Greens were in good shape but ran slow. Driving Range not that great have to hit off mats.
Local Knowledge
This course was a little disappointing. The greens on most holes are very small and somewhat slow. First time playing there are lot of blind shots with extreme bounces. The course plays over a busy road on a lot of holes. Overall try to pair up for course knowledge if you a first timer.
Great afternoon on the Course
Glen Brook is a great course for the beginner or low handicapper. Very scenic, with water that only comes into play on a few holes. Well maintained with smooth, fast greens. Ask for a yardage book.
Poor Staff
Was on vacation in the Poconos and played some great fun courses. This course is a good course with great greens....my biggest concern was the staff...on our way there the road was closed and no signs as to where to go. When we called the man that answered the phone laughed and couldn't tell us how to get there even though I gave him a cross street we were at (Glen Brook Divide) which come to find out was less than a mile away...WOW...ANYWAY when we arrived the same guy was rude and seemed upset that he had to get out of his chair to ring me up for 2 shirts...as I always buy myself and girlfriend a shirt where we play...I told him keep em...wonder how many locals buy shirts there...Overall good course...but staff needs to be revamped....I would not return...although I am going back to Woodloch Springs...which I played the day before...
none
the one hole I did not like was 9 one whole you had to hit over a road and then the next drive was over the same road. not a big deal just a little weird
Question Yardages
Like the layout, but couple of unfair holes. I question the yardages on some of the tees boxes. Greens in great shape, couple of the tee boxes for the ladies are too small and not flat. Don't get behind past members, they still think it is their course.
A little too rough for me.
Layout was not bad except for a few tricked up holes that were tough to figure out for first time at this course. Example, blind shots over creek, shots over road, or fairway sloping severely to road. Actually liked the old style narrow fairways and small greens. The killer was the unkept rough which was tall and full of clover that made it very difficult to find balls that were clearly in play. To top it off over half of the holes were cart path only (not sure why as it was not at all wet ) which made the 4 hour pace a challenge. All and all still an ok day thanks to golf now.
