Patriots Point Golf
The course is interesting and fun to play. Very open with little rough around the fairways offering a very Links style track. Some of the holes are extremely challenging especially if the wind is strong like it was when we played.
You pay for the view
The best thing about Patriots Point is the location. It is the most accessible course if you are downtown or in the heart of Mt Pleasant. The views of the harbor and bridge are great as well. But that is where my love for this course ends. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad course but not worth the prices they charge. They clearly charge you for the views and not the quality of the course. I really don't understand all of the pot holes in the fairways. That is my main gripe but the staff also is rarely friendly. On this particular visit the starter was not very welcoming at all. Charleston has routinely been voted the friendliest place in America. Clearly those voters haven't played at Patriots Point and they certainly haven't met that particular starter. I would recommend this course only if you can score a "hot deal" otherwise it is overpriced.
Course has spectacular views
Great course, played with my wife, she loved it! There are wonderful views of Fort Sumpter, Fort Johnson and Charleston Harbor. Pace of play was excellent and staff cordial. Course in great shape for late November as well! Would definitely play there again if we visit Charleston.
Friendliest and most helpful Staff Ever
The course was in a great location and in fairly good condition. Challenging enough, but did not beat you up.
The best part of the experience however was the friendly and helpful staff. I will play there again because I was treated so well.
Excellent
Great Course, plan your next golf vacation here, should be a sister course to some so cal tracts
Saluting the Vets on Vetrans Weekend
While in C-town had the opportunity to play. 50's and breezy conditions made for a couple challenges but overall a fun experience. First 3 holes, maybe 6 overall had NO tee box markings or any signage, ball-washers etc so initial navigation a little difficult. NOTE: if considering play during a Military Holiday / observance, allow extra time to get to clubhouse as you will have to negotiate tourists going to USS Enterprise and other Harbor exhibits.
Excellent course. Challenging in the wind, but the course is fair and true test of ones ability.
1st time on course
This turned out to be a nice course and less challenging as there was very little wind. Pace of play became painful on back nine too slow, need more ranger visibility later in day. Also water for drinking was on course but no drinking cups! Not your course if you hit long and play fast, ready golf but nice for lazy afternoon in the sun.
Disappointed
Wow..... I thought my wife and I were going to have a great day. We live in Savannah Ga. And drove over 2 and half hrs to play this course and then have a nice dinner at California Dreaming.
Dropped my bag off and went in the pro shop to get started, mind you I booked on Golf Now. The associate was so rude and had a terrible disposition. I should of done my homework first, because he rudely said, you have to pay for your wife to ride. Did not say how much or nothing. I paid and met the starter. He was a nice guy. Little did I know they had a tournament that day and was playing behind them. I had a walking twosome behind me and I allowed them to hit off with me. First couple off holes were fine and then it was jammed up. I saw the beverage cart once on the course, never came to us, she lost an easy 100 dollars. My wife was looking for some great drinks and food. Too bad. Overall course was descent, over rated and I'm sure glad I didn't hit in to the wedding party on 18. I feel you should take some ettique lessons from Savannah Harbor were I just played last week. First class!!!!! The associate in the pro shop super NICE, not a rude, no personality bump on the log like you have employeed there. Will not recommend or will EVER be back. I'd rather play a goat ranch!!!
Had a great time playing this course. I got a deal on it, so I felt the price was reasonable. I’m not that good at the game, and the course was challenging but was forgiving. I would play it again in a heartbeat.
Great course, sad maintenance
Wonderful routing, good greens, but fairways were ridged from carts driving when it was too wet. If someone who actually cared for the course was keeping it up, it would be 5 stars for the views and the routing. Greens were ok, but Moasic management is clearly just collecting money at this place.
Good choice
Played on short notice on a weekend. Friendly staff and great conditions made for a fun afternoon. Played in less than 4 hours.
Patriots Point
Course layout was average, but did have some nice views along the waterfront. Mosquitoes were horrible and almost unbearable. No cart person on the course. Greens were nice but not very good value for the money.
Beautiful Cousre
Played for 1st time had an awesome time only 4 holes were cart path only, It is an open course with some great view of Charleston and the the bay around. 17 hole a short par 3 your are hitting toward the bay. Also since you are by the bay wind was the only trouble I had. Love the layout. Would love to go back and play again.
Windy
This course on an average day would have been less challenging. A great layout with water coming into play on most holes, the staff was very friendly and helpful. With 25 mph constant winds with 50mph gusts we had to play very smart and conservative, the ball would blow 25 to 30 yards offline at any given time. I'd recommend this course if you're staying in the Charleston area.
