16th Hole from the teebox Photo submitted by djapes on 04/02/2015
A course that requires you to hit the proper club.
This course was played during abnormally wet condition so there was limited roll and thus you could hit the ball to the exact spot as it requires. Many elevated tee boxes and greens. Also a lot of blind shots that were fun for this first timer on the course. A real treat to play. I'm going back next week because I enjoyed the track that much.
Course has taken lots of damage due to rain.
Course has problems due to wet conditions and looks as if
additional problems was caused by ponds washing away and it is clear that have not been able to maintain due to wet conditions.
Good variety of holes
I booked this last minute on golfnow.com and so the value was awesome! Played with a couple who are members and live just off the fairway. Had a great time and appreciated the local knowledge. The course was in great shape for the most part and the greens putted well - not too fast but decent. This is a course where you have to play stategically - it's not just driver on every hole. The changes in elevation can be a challenge but add to the enjoyment in my opinion. I would recommend Reems Creek to anyone looking for a fun and enjoyable round of golf.
Challenging yet rewarding course.
This has quickly become my favorite course in the area. Its always in great condition and the staff is fantastic. The greens are challenging but super fun. I highly recommend Reems.
Overall the course was greate.
This course was in good shape and very challenging to me as a good time golfer. I like the GPS on the cart, cause it helps me for accurate distance. I can play all year long to this course.
Mountan Golf!!!!
Great mountain golf experience. Elevation changes. Blind landing areas at times. Receptive greens. Awesome views. Play it again and again.
Mountain Golf!!!!
Awesome Mountain Golf Experience!!! Great track. Some blind shots, but thats mountain golf. Loved it. Good greens..receptive
Played this course twice while visitng the Asheville area.
It is a challenging course for all handicaps.
Be prepared for a hilly course with many uphill, downhill and sideway lies. But the course is in great shape and the staff
are very friendly. Our only complaint was that some of the
sand traps had small rocks in them. I would definitely
recommend this course.
good
Course is nice, very hilly, in good shape. Several holes are a little to tight. Value for money is excellent.
Yes, I recommend this course.
Several told me "It's Not As Nice As It Used To Be"
Looks like a golf course surrounded by a hay field. You are left with many uphill blind shots to very undulating greens. If your approach shot is just a few yards short of the green you are chiping from the rough. Many sidehill and up/down stances. Rough where there should be fairway on several holes. Do you really need five or six large sand traps around the greens? One par four has not one but two lakes in the fairway. Sandtraps are mostly filled with reddish clay. There are no WOW! holes and the views are nothing special.
Prepare to be Confused
First let me say I like this course after all It's served as my home course for over 15 years and right now it's in the best shape I've seen in several years. Now here comes the confusing part, this course is an example in how not to design a golf course. Why well first off for the high handicapper its overly challenging with many forced carries of around 200 plus yds, steep bunkers, and very undulated greens. For the low handicapper with tour like length you can only hit driver on a few holes and even then your frequently left with a very sever down hill lie. As a result a lot of the potential fun that comes with bombing big drives is gone. This course definitley fits the target golf mold and has been good for my iron game but I believe most golfers want to air out their drivers and not have to hit pin point accurate shots into every green. Now let me reiterate It may not sound like it but I like this course its in great shape right now, its a pretty lay out, and its in a very pretty mountain valley surronded by nice homes, but as I said I personally believe its not a very friendly design for most golfers.
Awesome course with beautiful views
We teed off at 10 AM on Saturday, May 11 and were the only group on the front nine. I was the only person on the range. For $47, this is the best course I've ever played. Course knowledge is a MUST so thankfully we had a guy in our foursome who was a local.
A true mountain course
The course was in great condition. I felt like I was in the Scottish Highlands.
Mountain course
This is a mountain course with blind shots, side hill lies and many crests and valleys. Youhave to be a shot-maker and not a bomber, although there are a couple of holes an accurate bomber might drive the greens. New electric carts with GPS are a bonus, and the course was not crowded the Saturday we played. If you like to walk, play elsewhere. You would exhaust yourself climbing. Nice driving range.
Nice, but very tight
Course is nice, very hilly, in good shape. Several holes are a little to tight. Value for money is excellent.
Better than the previous reviews suggested.
Two of us in a cart (walking, IMO, is impractical) played in 3 hours on a cool Spring morning. It was a bit muddy, but what would one expect in early April? Greens and some fairways had been aerated; otherwise the course seemed to be in good shape coming out of winter. I'd say, if you choose to play from the correct tees, the course is interesting and a pleasure to play. We will be back.
Fast greens and tough pin placeements
Greens are fast and true. First cut outside of greens is clumpy, ball will sit between two clumps of grass making chipping difficult. Sand traps range from very good to poor.
great layout and scenery, but over priced compared to better conditioned courses in the area
great terrain changes from tee to green on almost every hole, a challenge for a first timer. beautiful mountain views
speedy multi tiered greens are fun if not maddening & generally in great shape
where this course has major condtion issues are the fairways and and the areas surrounding almost every green
you can tell the fairways were allowed to burn out in the summer and have many scars if you don't find the green on your approach you'll need a miracle, the 1st cut around the greens are all patchy and 50% bare dirt.
Course has been like this for over a year. Its a shame this is one of the best tracks in the area & wouldn't take much to get it in back in top shape
Great golf course
Course was very hard for me to play The greens are great and fast overall very good layout. Hope to get back there again.
Challenging course offering great views. The greens and fairways are well kept.
Very much enjoyed the course. This is the second time around and scoring was better since I knew the layout. Very challenging if playing the first time unaccompanied as there are several blind shots.
