Ted Rhodes Golf Course
About
Ted Rhodes Golf Course sits on the Cumberland River's North Nashville banks, and was originally named the Cumberland Golf Course, after that body of water, back when it only had nine holes, first laid out way back in 1953. A 1992 redesign added nine more holes, and nowadays golfers get 18 holes of links-style golf, complete with lakes and bunkers that make for good times. Big greens provide big targets for approaches on this walkable golf course.
The par-72 Ted Rhodes Golf Course measures 6,669 yards from the Blue tees, and offers a fourth set of tees that play to 5,010 yards for the ladies. A round of golf kicks off big on a par-5 hole that comes in at 555 yards from the Blue tee, one of two long holes, with the back nine also opening on a 534-yard hole. With that in mind, the golf course concludes with a relative whimper, on a par-4 hole that measures just 432 yards from the Blue tee.
Something to look for on the Ted Rhodes Golf Course is the fauna: Turtles, fish, muskrats and beavers all make their homes in the golf course's lakes and river.

Great course
I have played there several times now and I really love playing the course. It is in great condition and has some very challenging holes and you need to be on your game because your round could get away from you. I will be playing here many more times. They have a great staff and make you feel welcome. They have a really good pro and manger in Audie Johnson and will be helpful in any way he can to make your round enjoyable.Has a great layout and every one i play with enjoy playing there.
course and staff
This course has a great layout, with lots of hazards and sand bunkers. It is some what of a challenge and you need to think your way around the course. The course was in great condition and I really enjoy playing there. The staff is real friendly and nice to all golfers. They have a great pro and manager in Audie Johnson and a great guy and is always helpful and friendly. I would recommend this course and layout to all golfers and I plan to play it many more times.
Had a great time
Great course green and fairway was in good shape.. a must play again
Great course for money and location
For the price and condition, I think this is one of the best values in Nashville (public courses). Anytime I want to book a weekend round with my buddies this is always one of the first courses we look in to playing. It's close to the city and normally a pretty quick round of golf. The course gets a bit of play so you will experience some divots on the greens but they greens roll smooth and are normally soft. Fairways, sand, and rough are all normally in great shape. The lay out has a few funky holes but it is a fun course.
Quick round from out of town
Shockingly good course conditions for a Muni!
Little bit slow is only complaint - but that might not always be the case (really old foursome in front of us)
I could only dream that Atlanta's muni courses could be this well maintained.
Give this course a go!
Great course...great value
Well-maintained. Several challenging holes. Enjoyed it immensely.
Ted Rhodes Review
Great course and very challenging for all level of players.
Great Greens
This is my second time playing at Ted Rhodes. The greens are the best I have played on in the area. The rest of the course is in good condition and the layout is nice. I will be returning.
Good course, great greens
The first time playing the course and had a very good time. The course is set up very well with short to long holes that are different and you have to think your way around the course. The greens were not overly fast but had subtle breaks that need to be learned when playing more. Will be back and play again.
Normal Round
Good muni track but does not hold water well. Extremely wet on the back this round.
Love it
Great course. I love to play here. Only negative as that the fairaways can stay pretty wet during the winter months.
Greens in good shape.
Late December and the greens are good. The fairways and rough are dormant but in good shape too.
Plenty of water hazards on this course. Bring an extra ball or two.
Great layout, good conditions
This course is great value for the money, especially on a GolfNow Hot Deal. There aren't any drastic elevation changes (course is very walkable) but still are some hills that play substantially uphill or downhill. A lot of very different holes with unique challenges, shot selections, etc. Greens were in great shape for this time of year. This is my second time playing this year and I will be back in the future.
Ted Rhoades
Fairways and rough are browning, greens are in excellent condition, rolling quick and true. Tee boxes are hard, bunkers could use some additional sand and grooming. Perfect weather.
Shot shaping preferred
This is a fun risk, reward type course that is in good shape. A mature course designed by preeminent African-American PGA tour Champion, Ted Rhodes. This is a must play municipal course, when in Nashville.
Crholmes
Course was in good shape with exception of the sand traps. I'll play it again especially since it's so close to my house.
great course for the money
very surprised on how the course played today, very hot just had several days of hard rain. i like how they have the rough alittle taller. makes you keep the ball in the fairways or you will struggle getting there from the rough. course layout was nice.
