Good challenge
Championship course in great shape. greens are fast. staff very helpful and friendly. pair up quickly with other players. great value. very enjoyable. front nine doesn't come back to clubhouse. bring refreshments.
course was in excellent condition
I enjoyed playing the Deer Run course. It was in the best condition I've seen it in years.
Only one drawback
Greens and fairways were good.
Cart paths were terrible!!!!!
great value
Course in good shape. Fun and very pretty surroundings. Good for your soul.
First time here!!!
This isn't a very hard course, if you can keep it in the fairway. Play was fast.fairways and greens look good.
Being from a another state it nice to see deer on a golf course.
Great Course That Will Challenge Every Club In Your Bag
Course was in great condition. Very well maintained. Nice fairways and greens. Every fairway is lined with woods. Right or left is always trouble. The course forces you to think through every shot. Start the day before your round on their website. It will take you through every hole. My wife and I had a great time. Oh almost forgot..seeing the deer on the course was an extra benefit.
Sandy
Course was ok but greens were sandy and Airrated. To bumpy for balls to go straight. Snake haven.
Great place. Excellent deal.
Good place to play. Challenging greens. I will recommend this course.
value for golf dollars
Would go out of my way to play here . Williamsberg near by is way to expensive to play with my wife out of one wallet.
Conditions were perfect
I scheduled a 2some at 12:00 but wasn't aware that we were going to be paired up with another 2some and that was not good seeing that I was on a time crunch... Fortunately though the other people were not able to make it! Anyway, pairing people together is not a good idea simply because you never know if someone is trying to get in a quick round of golf or not...
outstanding
Very good course and very challenging really enjoyed my round and cannot wait to play the course again. Didn't play eighteen holes because of rain. The staff were very helpful.
Deer Run
The staff was excellent and very helpful. The course was challenging , Due to a lot of trees there were areas of dirt with no grass. Some of the tee boxes were also without grass.
Oh, Deer
This is a very nice course. There were deer everywhere. Course was fun and challenging. It requires you to play both draws and fades in order to play from the fairway. Nice challenge to the golf game. We got off early and played in under 3 hours.
Good Course w/ Some Need for Improvement
Overall good course but not military friendly with pricing. Other courses in the area that are better for the money. If you are playing on a special or GolfNow offer go for it. They are losing a couple tee boxes as well. Enjoy myself regardless.
Harder than you'd think
Greens were fast and true. Pin placements were challenging. The only thing you could complain about were the cart paths. They're terrible.Probably haven't been resurfaced in ten years. Hard on the butt and the cart. We played the Cardinal course. Haven't played it in years, but it was a nice change.
Friendly course for average golfer
A good test for first time the first time around the course. Very pretty with many deer making the game a nature watch while looking for your ball. More difficult then the score card reads. A fun round with very high handicappers able to enjoy the day.
Good front 9. HORRIBLE back 9.
When we got to the course the staff was very friendly and made sure we knew where everything was. They had a good range and a good putting green. We started out on the back 9 and our group was ready to leave after the first hole. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and rough had so much crabgrass and weeds it made finding your ball a challenge. There were bare sandy spots all over the course. Once we made the turn the course started to shape up and we were glad we stayed.
The holes are pretty nice and fairly well maintained
The course is pretty average. The only issue that detracts from the experience is that it is often very crowded which makes a round of golf take longer than usual.
