Fox Lake Golf Club
About
Fox Lake Golf Club originally opened in 1922 as a nine-hole course and it remained that way for over eight decades until in 2004, a second nine was added. Since there was such a large gap in between when the two nines were created, the course has an interesting character that combines both traditional and modern elements. There are several tough doglegs to contend with and they can be especially hard to maneuver on windy days. A few water hazards come into play in the form of ponds and a meandering stream that runs alongside some of the holes, including what is arguably the golf course's toughest. The par-4 eighth hole doglegs right with a narrow fairway and a small, undulating green. Those who play it smart will favor the left on their tee shot.

This is not one of my favorite courses to play. I'm not a fan of the layout. I played just after a heavy rain and the course was inpretty good shape.
Long Island Livin'!
Solid, solid couse. It was windy, being an open course off a lake, but you will rarely find such a beautiful course with such a coastal feel for the price.
Great job!
Great course, good food. Penny does an outstanding job as manager. Friendly and truly cares about the golfer who plays there. She is one of the many reasons that keeps us coming back. Thank you, Penny
Nice Little Course!
This out of the way course was a nice change from the courses I normally play. The course was in Great shape for August considering all the rain we have gotten.
Very good challenge
Very nice out of the way golf course. The course was in very good shape. Quite a challenge with long holes and narrow fairways. Not for the faint of heart!
Flat course. Not worth the amount.
T-time set up for 6:30 am. No one showed up untill 6:45. Didn't tee off till 7:00.
Mix of old and new make for an interesting round.
I cut my teeth on this course back in the 1970's as a teen ager with a wicked slice (I'm right handed). Most of the original nine holes had hazards to the right so I left a lot of balls in the marsh. Originally this was a nine hole course but now it is 18 and the new nine are interspersed with the old. The old nine has small greens but the nine are good sized. This is not a long course but several of the holes (like #3 and #8 and #9) demand accuracy off the tee. I think this course offers a wide variety of hole types. Unlike my usual course which has each hole at 150 yard, this one offers several different lengths. Sand traps looked in great shape. Course definitely favors a player with a fade (not a wicked slice) off the tee since there are a lot of dog leg rights.
fun course
fun little course for the money, make sure you grab scorecard so you know where you're going. A little confusing finding the next hole.
fun course to test your placement
I like this course for its hole layout. It makes you think a shot or two ahead. Lots of dog leg rights. Have to learn to fade or you might take am extra stroke. The location is fantastic. Forost of the course you feel hidden from the world. Great place to ruin a good walk!! Lol
Fox Lake Golf Course
Interesting course in excellent condition. Greens are in outstanding shape. Friendly staff, great value!
Good Course for the money
Moved right along course is in good shape people are cordal
The course had both water and sand
Overall the course was nice to play offering both water, trees and sand. The greens and sand traps were in good condition.
Nice golf course. Great value.
Good course with some interesting holes.
The older holes have some really uniqie greens that require different shots.
Small greens
The course was in excellent shape. The price was right ($12.00) for 18 holes and a cart. The only complaint, the greens are very small. On the par 5's very tough to make the 2nd shot stick on the green. Overall, worth the money.
Links style, flat tall grass, not a lot of water to get in trouble.
The course in pretty good condition, with the lack of rain we have had.
The front nine is mostly a link style, with the back nine more of a Wisconsin type with some trees. The tricky greens were in very good condition. Enjoyed the day very much. Great deal on Golfnow. Will be back soon.
As a side note, the cook at the club was very friendly and knew how to cook gluten free meals, which one of player needed.
Thank you
Make sure you stock up on balls.
If you love to lose balls this is your course. I recall many of my shots going like this: bounce, bounce, "ok that looks like it will play well". Get up to where I thought my ball was, what? Must of went into the long grass. Search, search, search. End up dropping a ball. LAME!
The new nine ( front ) needs some trees by the T-Boxes.
The rough on the new nine is very, very long. You must hit a straight ball on this part of the course. The back nine is much nicer. The club house is very old and needs renovation.
