Tough Greens
Pace was a bit slow and people jumping holes
They need a Ranger or Marshal out there
Great conditions on a late fall day
This course is in great condition (at least the front 9). Somewhat slow pace, but given the weather, it was not an issue. Will play again this season if possible.
Upgrade from the past
This is an old school course. It’s been around for a while,. It’s a shorter course and very walkable course. They had a major upgrade a few years ago where they put in irrigation and reworked the bunkers. It’s in good shape Tee to Green even this late in the season. The greens are not fast but plenty of undulations and slope. The par four 13th hole is a real challenge-Driver off the tee will get you in trouble, a long iron leaves you another long iron into a well guarded green.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a great restaurant, a nice chipping and putting area and a driving range to warm up on. Pace of play can be a bit slow especially summer weekends. We played on a Sunday in November in three hours and 55 minutes.
Pin placements were crazy
Starter was great
They need a Marshal
People asked to pass and we said no because there was already a backup and they passed anyway.
Chuck
After receiving reviews from friends, I was totally surprised. The greens were great but tough with the undulations and fast. A copy of holes needed some renovations , other wise a great course. This is a challagency course .Will play again
Weather didn't cooperate. A little foggy and misty which lead to some muddy spots. Greens were tough but fair. Surprisingly fast for the damp weather. I wonder what they are like on a dry day? Highly recommend it.
Looks ordinary but it’s a gem in a state park
Not having played this course before we were surprise at the level of difficulty, especially on the greens. The fairways on several holes is broken up and the rough is very rough. The starter does a great job of keeping things moving and addressing those who skip holes. We were please that we were able to play as a twosome as the other two players were late. The front side is definitely easier than the backside, but both are challenging.
bring your best putting stroke
perfect lie in all the fairways. The rough is cut at a reasonable length to be penalizing but not so long that you lose your ball. The Greens - well they are FAST. perhaps a 12 or more STIMP. and they hold a well hit shot with reasonable spin or a high lofted shot. Be in the correct place and you can putt great, get above the hole and you can putt off the green. I keep coming back because of the course conditions and love the greens.
Interesting course
Course was in good shape. Staff was super friendly and accomodating.
Greens were fast and difficult. I usually 1 or 2-putt but today I 3 and 4-putted on most holes.
Pace of play was a little slow but not too bad. Had to wait at every hole but not too long. Ive seen worse for a beautiful Saturday.
Overall, enjoyed my round and will return soon.
I wish this course was closer to my house.
I will not sugar coat this review, it was a fun course. I’m an average hacker and I really like this course. A little short, so we mixed playing from the Blues and the Whites. My only and I stress only comment I have is there needs to be some more signage out there directing where some of the tee box locations. Got confused but a couple of guys in our group had played the course and aided in getting around the course. Great variety of short and long hole locations for the Par 3’a & 4’s. I blew up on the #1 & 2 HC holes as expected. I’ll be cautious next time. I am planning on coming back.
Nice course
Played this course solely because it was on Golfnow site. It was shorter than I thought it would be, but the dog legs and the trees made it a challenge. The fairways were close together and we got hit into a couple of times by the groups on other holes. All this being said I shot the best round of my life today and enjoyed the round. I also feel like they must have had an event due to signage still being up and the greens were a little tore up. Not enough people are repairing their ball marks on the greens
