Pray for rain
Front 9 layout was good, back 9 very quirky. Greens were decent. Fairways were lousy, and tee boxes had very little grass on them.
This place needs rain badly. Could’ve used some supervision while waiting 10 mins per shot the entire second 9.
Overall not worth the hr and 10 min drive down from Greenville.
Good Course
Picturesque Course adjacent to Lake Greenwood with some challenging holes
Excellent Course
Excellent course. Greens in great shape. From the gold tees the course is a challenge, but a fair test of skill. Most of the course is walkable, but a few holes on the back-nine are a bit hilly. Bring a banana. ;) Very nice driving range with multiple well-marked targets and nice putting green, as well. Staff curteous and friendly.
Great Club
Friendly, laid back staff. Course kept in good condition. Best in the Greenwood area.
Great course
This course is one of the best in the Upstate South Carolina area available for public play..
I highly recommend it.
If only the group in front would have had the courtesy to repair their ball marks.
I fixed not only mine, but many left behind by them.
Please people, fix your ball marks!! It keeps the greens in the great condition they were before you arrived!!
This course is in pristine condition. From tee box to green on every hole.
Great course
Been living in the area for about 12 years but this was my first time playing here. I had seen the course several times while the Symetra tour was playing it for several years in May.
It is a great layout and was in pristine condition.
I’ll be playing this one a lot more often.
Staff is friendly. Good value.
Oh how the mighty have fallen!
A less-than-desirable experience,
years ago I was a member at this club and it was kept in Immaculate condition,
since that time the greensman has changed and the golf course has never been in such poor shape,
the fairways were scalped and brown the greens were spongy and Shaggy the members we're rude and wouldn't let me play through,
the chef in the restaurant and Steve in the pro shop have a terrible attitude,
Steve couldn't even make a simple club repair,
when I expressed my disappointment,
I received a reply of "the owner is a millionaire, he could close this place and do what he wants with it"
as if that is an excuse for bad conditions and poor attitudes,
The final straw was learning my car had been keyed in the parking lot at this facility,
no wonder the Symetra Tour event is not returning to this location,
the only two positives about my experience was JJ and Patrick in the Pro Shop,
They are nice guys.
I detest leaving in negative review but have no choice under this circumstance.
Great course in great condition plus the off course amenities were super nice but not open
Golf now made the mistake of having tee times available after a high school golf tournament so we go stuck behind them didn’t finish made it through 15 holes
Slow!
Slowest course we have played. Took all the fun out of today.
Convenient place to play
This course is in very good shape most of the time. Being halfway btw greenville and Augusta it’s a very convenient place to meet my golfing family for round of golf. Bbq sandwiches at the turn are always part of our round at Stoney Point!
We will be back!
I picked the course due to proximity between Athens GA and Columbia SC. Very happy I did. We got a great deal on GolfNow and the course was very nice. Greens are tight with some challenging breaks and lots of water and bunker hazards.
Out of the way but worth the drive.
This is a course I had heard about for years but never played because “you can’t get there from here.” It is in the middle of nowhere on Lake Greenwood but it is well worth the effort to find and play. The greens are the draw with challenges on almost every one. We really enjoyed our trip and will be going back.
Rated well for a reason
As other reviewers said it was the perfect location to meet a friend halfway. I enjoyed the layout very much. Some very pretty holes and some very challenging holes. Only real negative was consistent yardage discrepancies between the card and the signs. Makes a difference on some holes. I will definitely come back.
