A gem remembered
Played on 05/26/2020, after not playing here for 15 years. It was a course we always enjoyed just a 75 minute drive so we usually played closer to home. We have received record amounts of rain lately so the course was cart path only. The course was wet in places but very playable and fantastic. Overall the course is in great shape and beautiful to the eye. We enjoyed the first 18 so much we played another nine. The staff here is friendly and accommodating. Clubhouse is nice and accommodating also. Tom Jackson designed a gem here and the staff has made it a must play with their conditioning. Treat yourself to a beautiful course that you will want to play again. We plan to return soon and enjoy it all over again!
Even though it looked like the greens had been freshly aerated the greens are in great shape. Pace was great today. I'd definitely recommend.
Better pray for rain
These guys need some rain. Greens were decent but everything else is kinda burnt out already, especially the tee boxes. Not a lot of grass to be had on the back tees. Liked the front 9, back 9 was short and goofy. Not worth the hour trek from Greenville.
Great Course
course in great shape. Greens can be challenging but overall a great course.
No ranger equals no fun
This is a good course with great views of the lake, but they dont have a starter or ranger, which means absolutely no control of starting or people following the rules. My elder friend says he doesn't care to return because of the extended waiting and it seems like the members just show up and butt in on people especially golfnow customers. Course is it very nice shape considering the wet weather but excessive waiting is unacceptable.
Worth a drive
Great game, course was a little wet but not horrible. Worth the drive up from Columbia. Definitely will be back to play again once it drys out.
Good value for the money. The course was very wet but nice and I plan to play it again when it drys out.
Wet and Muddy
Fairways are cut to short for the current conditions
Fun but soupy
Fun course. Looks to be well maintained. Was a soupy mess though after heavy rains the previous night. Tough playing when trapping the ball on iron shots is nearly impossible due to just the sheer amount of water on the surface. Will definitely try to play again in drier conditions.
Sandy Greens
Course was in pretty good shape. Had a nice practice area. Greens have recently been sanded. Would’ve been nice to know. Called the pro shop multiple times that morning to check status of greens no answer. Not worth the hour and a half drive for the condition of the greens. Oh well got a logo ball so most likely won’t return. Got behind a slow 4some who backed the whole course up. Pimento cheese sandwich was awful.
Beautiful
Love playing this course. It's always in great condition and today didn't disappoint. Well worth the drive from Columbia.
