Wet day
Cart path only and course was extremely wet so not the most pleasant experience but greens are tough and fast. Will play again but definitely wait til it has dried out
Beautiful day
Course was very wet, but that’s the only negative from today. Really enjoyed the layout and pace of play was perfect.
Good challenge
Have played the links many of times, but today was a not so great experience. Played as a twosome and the front nine was great felt like we had the course to our selves. On the back nine had a pair come up behind us and tee into us on a few occasions while we waited on the group in front of us. First time this has ever happen on this course. Just kind of messed the entire vibe of the day.
Excellent course
Have played this course about 8 times in last 4 years and it is always a pleasure. Course was in excellent shape although greens were just finishing up healing from aerification and were a bit shaggy and slow. Pace of play was the worst I have seen....our 3-some followed a 4-some for 15 holes and they never waved us through, making us wait darn near every shot.
Great shape but slow pace
I think a couple groups in front on me didn’t actually have a tee time. Started late due to this. Pace was very slow pretty much all the way. Had to wait on every shot. 4 some 2 groups up were extremely slow.
Course is in great shape however. Certainly worth playing right now.
Course in great shape
The course is in great shape. The fairways are green and manicured. Greens roll pretty fast and consistent. Pace of play was ideal. 3 hrs and 15 minutes.
Play it, you won’t regret it!!
Smooth sailing
Course is in good shape. Tees. Fairways, and greens. Only some of the bunkers were not up to par due to no rakes and not being kept up. Some were fine. Pace was excited our threiplayed in 3+15, even with mostly continuous mist- so no waiting on shots. Even though have posted "2players per cart", I feel they should accommodate a request for a separate cart for those that request, especially when there are plentiful.
Well worth the drive to a real gem.
The Links at Stoney Point is around a 1 hour drive from many larger cities BUT it is well worth making the trip.. We tee off at a popular time at 10:40 on a Sunday and came back in less than 4 hours so pace of play was excellent. The course is in brilliant conditions, the greens run true and the bunkers and fairways are in perfect shape. Some lovely views close to the water and a nice test of both the long hitting and placement shots on the dog-leg holes.
Don’t miss this course, it’s a gem.
A gem remembered
Played on 05/26/2020, after not playing here for 15 years. It was a course we always enjoyed just a 75 minute drive so we usually played closer to home. We have received record amounts of rain lately so the course was cart path only. The course was wet in places but very playable and fantastic. Overall the course is in great shape and beautiful to the eye. We enjoyed the first 18 so much we played another nine. The staff here is friendly and accommodating. Clubhouse is nice and accommodating also. Tom Jackson designed a gem here and the staff has made it a must play with their conditioning. Treat yourself to a beautiful course that you will want to play again. We plan to return soon and enjoy it all over again!
