Play it again, Sam
Course was in great shape. Use mosquito spray. They don't have beverage service on the course, including a lack of water stations. So bring your own. They don't allow non-members to dine in the members only restaurant.
Great shape
It is nice to play a course in the summer that is well taken care of. I wish they would have more tee times available for the public.
Condition greatly improved
Course is greatly improved from a year ago. Greens are excellent, fairways good but not great, bunkers in good, playable condition.
great greens in beautiful shape
Just started playing GVCC this year and have had some great rounds. The greens are in awesome shape so you can really work on your game as well as have a great time doing it. Thank you for keeping golf in Green Valley at a quality pace.
good course
considering it has been over 100 deg here forever the course was in remarkably good shape. the fairways were bare in places but the greens were in excellent shape. if you can stand the afternoon az. heat there is no better and speedier value than green valley country club in summer.
Great Summertime Value
For the price during the summer it is hard to beat this course. It has good greens, the grass is watered and green, bunkers have good sand, nice practice facilities.
Not sure if they have a Beverage cart because we never saw one. There are also no water coolers on the course so make sure you take something to drink.
Don't plan on having a beer either as you must be a member or invited by a member to have any alcohol.
Easy course with good greens.
The course winds through a number of older subdivisions in Green Valley, but it is well signed so you won't get lost. Many of the homes are right on the fairways. If you are a direction challenged golfer you will be hitting houses with frequency. The fairways are wide and mostly straight. It actually gets a bit boring. The fairways are recovering from aeration and actually play pretty well. The greens are soft, run true, and are very receptive. If you hit a high shot it will hit and stick. Bunkers are so-so, and tees are good. This is a good course to bring a new golfer as it is wide open, not many hazards, little elevation change, and easy greens. The equipment is good and the staff is very nice.
Great Time
The greens are in excellent shape. The hardest part about the course is hitting it in between the houses on both sides of the fairways. I was impressed on how well the course is taken care of and how good it looks considering its over 100 degrees out. Worth the money.
clubhouse?
If green feer's are OK to play for pay they should be able to use the club house after the round.
Nice course
Course has wide fairways and they were in good shape for this time of the year. Unlike many newer courses, the houses are a reasonable distance from the playing area. The greens were very good, rolled true, maybe a little hard. The course is flat but is made interesting by the mature trees, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. Enjoyable course, our second time and we will go back. They insist on 90 degree rule for carts which I have no problem with if it helps to keep the course in good condition--makes sense especially this time of year. The staff could not have been friendlier. I appreciate the membership providing access to non-members. No alcohol allowed on the course but that is fine, I like a cold one after the round not during.
Great Value
The course was in great shape for this time of year. The greens were immaculate! I would certainly play there again, especially for the price.
Great time
We enjoyed our second visit. The last time we played there was ten years ago and the staff and two gentlemen we played with were very helpful and friendly. Our lunch at the restaurant was superb!
Green Valley Country Club
I had my youngest daughter and her husband here from CO and decided to see if we could play GVCC. We found that this course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was great. All fairways and greens were in top shape. There is a variety of different type of holes and we found it to be challenging. We all had fun and will play this course again.
CCGV
Best greens that I have played on in GV. course a bit soggy, but very playable.
Good course...friendly staff
The course is well maintained, and the staff is courteous and friendly.
Course is good
Good course - friendly staff in pro shop! Were not allowed in clubhouse because it is a private club.
Country club
the course i in very good shape. /we were abel to play in a shotgun which kept us playing at a good speed.
Starter
The starter was very friendly and helpful, I signed up as a single and he called out to the Threesome for one of the group to meet me. I'll definitely come back
A real pleasant surprise
Played with another couple from a shotgun start at 1PM. finished in a little less than 4 hours. the course reminded me of an old fashioned country club. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Looking forward to playing it again. did not eat so could only put avg. rating.
