North Golf Course at Sun City
About
Located just south of Grand Avenue in Sun City, Sun City North Golf Course's trademarks are the doglegs and large trees that are present throughout the course. It has many other challenges to offer including plush, elevated greens and numerous sand bunkers. Placid ponds also create water hazards that come into play on two holes. The well-maintained course is relatively flat with plenty of shade, making it enjoyable to walk. The Sun City North Golf Course facility has several amenities including a putting green and chipping area. There is also a fully stocked pro shop and full service grill and deli.

The course was in good shape. The one problem is still the same as has been in the past, and that is 5 somes, they seem want to place 5 people in a group expressly if you have a time thru golf now. The course is also ready to be off of cart path only.
Slow City North
Pace of play was awful. 5 hours is not acceptable. This is an easy course. We waited on every shot on every hole. Groups behind us started leaving because of pace. No Ranger to keep pace. Pro shop said the ranger was out there, but we never saw him and the pace was at a crawl. The fairways and greens were in decent shape. Greens a bit fuzzy, but they just went through over seed so not bad really. It could have been very enjoyable, but the slow pace killed it. After the 10-11th hole I just wanted it to be over.
North
Love the course however tee time was 11:37 2 cross over groups of 5 players were put in front of our tee time so we didn’t tee off until 12 :00. The pace of play by these groups was super slow. The gentleman in the pro shop was rude so I don’t think I will play there again.
Great Value
Really enjoyed ourselves, fairly simple course in great condition considering only second day open post-overseed. Looking forward to coming back again soon!
No carts
No golf carts. No push carts. Had to trek the clubs 18 holes. Not sure if they always keep only 12 carts available at a time or if this was an isolated incident due to seeding schedule. Otherwise it’s a great course!
Good Value
Played 3 hour round at 7 am on Saturday. Fairways and greens are in perfect condition (the greens are slow but true). Layout is not the most interesting, but the rough is thick enough to create challenges if you land there, and the greens have enough undulations to make them challenging. Would definitely recommend for the price.
How about a quick trim?
Several weeks in a row playing North and other Sun City courses and it appears the maintenance staff, specifically mowers, are on strike or have been fired. The rough is extremely penalizing, losing balls a few feet off fairways. To their credit, the fairways are very nice but a good round is impossible to shoot unless you hit them all. Overseed is around the corner so how about giving us good playing conditions before you shut down for several weeks.
That was some fun
Classic course, I really enjoyed the place. Very Bushwood/caddyshack feel to it. Went around in 3 hours and 15 minutes on a Sunday morning, and walked it. Great staff and the members are a lot of fun. From the back tees it gives a fair challenge if you can control distances well. Faster greens than you think. A blast to play.
Good course for the cost
Smooth check in, nice people. Course in decent condition. Greens have consistent grass/speed. Nice layout.
Gem of a course
Course has a nice flowing aspect to it, each hole has its own charm.
Greens and course are in great condition.
Have fun
It was good for average players the green in good shape
