Spectacular views and well maintained golf course.
Great value for the money. Don't forget your camera when you play the course. The Ocean Nine has stunning views. Friendly and helpful staff. The mere 3 comments I have, (1) greens were very slow, needed to be cut, (2) mounted hand-held GPS was really difficult to see, and (3) pin placement would have helped since flag color does not change.
Fair Test -- Great Views
The staff couldn't have been more friendly, and the tee gifts were unexpected and really appreciated. The views from this course were worth the trip over from Oahu for the day.
A Nice Nicklaus designed Resort course.
The combination of the original front nine from the Kiele course and the re-design of the ocean course over seen by Jack Nicklaus gives a good playable resort course.
The course can challenge a better player while still being playable for the average golfer.
The course is always in good shape. The staff is very helpful.
As in Hawaii an occasional rain shower may pass through but they go through quickly.
Playing after 12 noon will get the best rates.
Good but not great
The front nine, Kiele Mauka, is a fairly pedestrian track, neither too easy nor too tough and not very memorable. It is in beautiful condition. The real course is the ocean nine, or Kiele Moana. Spectacular views and challenging holes are abundant. 18 requires a long, accurate drive and a second shot to an island green. If you are going to play only a couple of times on Kauai, I would go elsewhere.
