It’s been at least 2 years since I last played Sierra Lakes, the last good public course in the Inland Empire. This course used to be top notch from tee box to greens. After today’s round I must say the fairways are not what they used to be. It’s a shame but if you can’t get on a private course you are better off driving out to the Palm Springs area to find a nice course.
One of the best in the Inland Empire
The course and range were both in excellent condition, despite very windy weather. Great customer service, thank you Jacob for all the help. I’ll definitely play this course again and would highly recommend it to any skill range of golfer.
Poor course conditions
Was disappointed with the course conditions for the price. Have played this course 25 times and recently returned only to find poorly maintained fairways. For one of the nicer courses in the Inland Empire and most expensive I expect better conditions. I will not recommend playing here until they improve the course Conditions. The fairway grass was clumpy, hard, and dry. Most were sprayed green to cover the dead/dormant grass. The tee boxes could also use some care. The greens were ok and fast. It was the only positive thing about the play. The staff is friendly and the club house is well kept. I did not use the practice facilities this time around.
Best value for the money
The staff is very helpful, the food was good the waitresses very beautiful and the course is in good condition especially the greens. I am a 6 HC and every time I come to this course I feel like coming back to try the course again, I will definitely recommend this course you will get your money’s worth.
Above average everything!
Above average on every categories...
Little be slow on pace of play but slow players let us play through on 10th hole.
Had great round of golf.
Great course to play for the money. Greens were smooth, fairways were decent but the traps could use some more sand in them. Some traps had really hard packed sand. Other than that I had a great time. Will definitely be back!
Players Assistance Needed
Love the layout and the conditions of this course as I’ve been playing it for 15 years. However, there is rarely ever someone out there pushing slower groups or providing a quicker pace of play. Maybe a tad just over priced but they are always busy so maybe that’s just me.
Good to poor condition
This course use to be the shining star of the inland empire. Was always green and lush all year. Now it's awful. New management or poor superintendent I dont know. Bottom line is Sierra Lakes is now just another.
Course was in decent shape considering the season. The greens were great. Pretty quick but fan true. Some pretty stupid pin positions today, every green on the course the greenskeeper placed the pin somehwere near the edge and also on bad spots. Disappointing as it made a few of the greens unnecessarily more difficult. But its a good public course
Windy but fun
This was my 97th different golf course of the 2019. One of the windiest conditions but played it still
Nice 9 holes. Started raining hard on #7 so we skipped out on the back 9. Enjoyable even with the wetness.
Tee time booked but not honored =(
Checked in and paid 40 mins before our tee time (11:30am)
Walked up to the starter @ 11:15am, starter said we won't be able to tee off until an hour later (~12:15pm!) because there's a tournament shotgun still on course. The way he said to golfers waiting was totally unprofessional, as if it's our problem, not them. Sunset at ~4:30pm, no chance to finish all 18 holes especially on a Saturday. Worst golfing experience ever....
