About
Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Getting much better
Nice to see the course getting better, the greens were good and fairways good. Last played in May 2016
Course is getting better
Course is in better shape than a few years ago. Needs water to thiliken up the turf. Greens are slow, need watet. Tee boxes could be in better condition. Overall, a good value for a high handicap like myself.
Loving every minute of it
Not to fast & not to slow!!
We played the course in four hours.
In at ten out at three not bad for us
Great value
Have played here a few times. Great layout and shape for the price.
Nice course - didn't know it existed
I liked it overall experience...fast pace, nice greens. Some hurricane damage but not intrusive. I will play this course again.
Ongoing improvement
Nice layout. Fairways need work. Greens were slow and a little rough, but challenging. A good deal for the price.
Coarse was nice. Needs water on coarse and there was no cart beverage person on coarse.
We do our best to inform our guests before they tee off if we do not have beverage cart service available for that day. We apologize if this was not communicated. A water fountain can be found on #5 tee. Refreshments can be purchased in the pro shop at check in, with a complimentary cooler. We love to keep our golfers happy, and with the help of 3 Palms Grille(open for lunch and dinner with a full bar) have been doing just that!
Making A Come Back
When a golf course has been neglected for a long time it is very difficult and expensive to bring it back. It's been several months since I last played at Oak Bridge. I must say they have done a lot of work and the course is looking much better than it did the last time I played. The fairways and greens are much improved. The tee boxes could use some work and there is NO SAND in the bunkers. There are no water coolers on the course. They definitely need water before the weather starts to warm up.
The last time I played there the staff was much more friendly, They also had a bbq grill going with hot dogs and beers when we made the turn. That was a nice touch. The restaurant is not accommodating to golfers making the turn. They didn't even have anyone driving the beer cart.
The girl in the pro shop acted like "The Grinch" when I wished her a Merry Christmas.
I hope the course continues to improve and they bring back the friendliness I experienced the first time.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Our maintenance team has been working hard this past week on shaping and filling the bunkers and the improvements are noticeable. The 3 Palms Grille just opened in December and has been providing the best fine dining service and food to all guests. Please be patient as we all continue to fine tune our operation. Beverage cart service is operated based on tee sheet bookings right now and will have quick meals for the golfers coming soon! Our team members are usually extremely friendly, but everyone can have a bad day. Sorry for your unfavorable experience. We are here to greet you with all smiles next time!
The improvements continue
Oak Bridge is in the best shape I've seen in a long time. The time to play it is now! It has been getting better over the last year and it's safe to say that the course has finally turned the corner. The greens roll well and most of them are looking good. The overall condition of the course is significantly better than I've seen in the last couple years. A few tee boxes are spotty and need some work along with most bunkers but for the price to play it's hard to get a better deal in Jax or Ponte Vedra.
Don't go!
OMG, I CANNOT BELIEVE this is a Sawgrass property.
The tee boxes are sand and weeds, the greens are absolutely horrible, fairways are only missing cattle otherwise you'd swear you are in a pasture.
Tee markers are half there, half not.
Being cheap doesn't make up for the disappointment this course offers you.
Despite Jax Beach being in a drought, no other course is in this bad of shape that I've played, if it were FREE, I would not play this dumpster fire again.
Dear Guest,
Sorry to know that your time here wasn't as pleasing as you may have expected. This review is very surprising, considering all other recent reviews from "Verified Purchase" guests have been positive. Every one on our team is working hard to make significant improvements to the golf course and our guests' experiences. We can assure that progress is noticeable and apparent. Do go! If you'd like to see how many good new changes have been made!
In the process
The last time I played this course was about 5 years ago when it was in much better shape. With that said, there seems to be some very good progress and effort being placed towards improving the conditions and amenities of this course. The greens were good for the most part but a bit inconsistent in speed. Some tee boxes had bare spots but not a real problem. Some of the fairways were a bit firm with not a lot of grass making it a bit difficult to compass the ball. Practice greens are a good size. The drivng range is ok but you have to hit off of a carpeted surface. The bar area and patio is looking good. It will be a nice place to enjoy a cold one after a round of golf.
I do enjoy the layout and look forward to playing here again. Both Victoria (cashier in the clubhouse) and Zak (cart guy) were very friendly and accommodating.
Please have coffee available next time.
Still needs work
Oakbridge use to be one of my favorite courses but over the years the condition has really declined. The new owners have done a great job on improving the club house, pro shop and driving range. Hopefully work on fixing the course will begin soon.
Sub-Standard
Disappointed in the course, I take into account that Hurricane Matthew came through the area a few weeks ago, however it still was in unsatisfactory condition. Tee boxes were beat up, fairways were thin , rough was nasty!!! The nicest thing going on was the pro shop which was being renovated. I'm sorry the porta potty was very cool. You would have to use it to understand.
Terrible experience there are a couple idiots there who say they run a golf academy the owners should find out what they really do all day
Finally they are trying
They are putting some money into the course. They mowed the rough, so it is actually possible to hit a green out of the rough and they have grass on them. The greens will be good in about a month, but they have grass. Noticeable improvement all around. When they get a chance, the sand in the bunkers is still poor. Worth the time and money. I will be back.
Hidden jewel in the rough
I have played the course for many years. I stopped playing 1 year ago due to the condition of the course and the attitude of the staff ( Horrible)
Today ( after a friend told me he played the course last week and it was amazing) I booked an 830 T-time.
I was amazed as soon as I walked into the pro shop ( Wow) The place looks like a true pro shop, absolutely friendly staff. I played the course and even with a hurricane just days before the course was in great shape. The cart attendant, the greens staff the starter and the Bag drop employee we're GLAD to see me and greet me. I am a very tough critic when it comes to golf courses and believe me the new Oak Bridge is amazing ( and only getting better). Hit away. Enjoy.
Had to try it!
Read many bad reviews about condition, but as I drive by course on A1A it looked improved. Price is right
Front nine only, tee boxes spotty, fairways good, 8 of 9 greens were good, only number 3 was below average.
Green speed slow but as they try to improve greens this should be expected. If the back nine is this good, it is well worth the price. Course is challenging, a lot of water with some tough carries. Traps need work.
No locker room or bar, both being completed.
Very happy and will return
It is getting better
Been a while since I lasted played here. A few months ago all the greens were horrible.and in need of a lot of work. Since that time the greens have madea comeback and it is starting to look better. You can tell they have been working hard and lots of updates to the clubhouse are being made. The value of playing for $30 is quite worth it and recommend checking it out again.
Pathetic course
The fairways and the greens are absolutely horrible, fairways are 80% dirt. The greens have sand, crabgrass and craters all over them which make them nearly impossible to putt on! Don't believe the talk about how it's in decent shape, it's not!
Great Value - Course has rebounded nicely
I love the course and the location. The new owners and staff have done a great job in turning this course around. Looking forward to playing this course once a week going forward.
Thanks. We are happy to have you back anytime!
