The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Slow play
Took over 5 hours. Every tee time showed as available so we thought, lets go, we can get a quick round in. Every hole had three groups on the tee box, a group in the fairway, and a group on the green. Course condition was decent. Tee boxes were bare, fairways fast, and greens slow .
Honest Review
Oakbridge is my home course going back 20 years. In the late 90's/early 2000s, the course was in the perfect form youd expect from a golf course in TPC Sawgrass. Some bad owners then took over and ran it in the ground for a decade or more. Pumps went out, equipment was never replaced, talented grounds keepers left due to lack of resources. In the end Oakbridge got the moniker "Jokebridge" and turned into a dirt track for a couple years. It was sad seeing a Arnold Palmer design, that I grew up on, neglected like that. However, under new ownership, the course is coming back to life. Tee to green the course is at a solid "good" rating right now. If a few tee boxes got a little more love and some new sand in the bunkers, the course could easily be a 4 star rated course. With the recent rain in the forcast, the course is filled in and the greens are rolling true. I play twice a week around town. There are 4 star courses on GN that are in a lot worse condition currently. Give Oakbridge a try again.
oak ridge- it is what it is-i don't understand
i don't understand why this course gets a bad rap. it's in sawgrass and your play around million dollar homes with Beautiful views, but the tee boxes need to replaced, the far ways are dry and the sand traps need to be tilled. it was like hitting off asphalt. BUT YOU ONLY PAID $18.
it's a great value for a buck a hole.
Course getting better
I played the course in February and now the greens are much better. I see the course is getting better
Coming along
The course is in poor shape but better than a couple years ago. There is clearly effort being made to improve the condition of the course. Still long way to go though. Beautiful layout - if ever they really improve the conditions it would be a nice gem.
Played Oak Bridge for the last time.
There are so many things that need to be "Fixed" on the course that would take too much time to write about. To turn this course around will require a lot of money and 5 years on constant attention. I was a member years back. I am gald I gave my membership back. I will not be back. I wonder how 12 holes is goining to workout?
Really really bad, save your money!!
No grass in the fairway, weeds on the greens, no sand in the bunkers! They would have to pay me to play this goat ranch again!
The owner is selling of parts of the course and the course will end up with 12 holes...it is obvious that's this is a real estate play and not a serious attempt to improve the course.
STAY AWAY!!
Good deal
Course is a bit beat up but challenging. Water and sand traps make you pay for mistakes. Fairways have very little growth so a 150 yard drive can roll another 30 yards easy. Can't complain too much since I paid $22 for 18 holes.
With a fair amount of work this could be great
Having read the reviews for the course before we booked, our expectations were not high and this was a good thing as most of the comments made in prior reviews were very accurate. We booked a 12:10 tee time and were there well beforehand. Upon arriving at the first tee, there were 4 groups ahead of us who had not teed off at 12:05. The starter told us that there is a game(?) every Friday and that we should know that before booking that time - really? And just how we should know was not apparent. We asked to go start on 10 and after some consideration our request was granted. This saved the day for us as the back nine was mostly empty.
The course conditions mentioned in other reviews are still present but we could see where improvements were being made. Many tee boxes need to be improved and large weedy spots in some fairways need attention. It would also help if there was actual sand in the sand traps. One of the biggest problems appears to be drainage. There was rain the day before we played and the course was very soggy which meant CPO for the entire course.
The setting and design of the course is really very good and with a fair amount of work this course could be a hidden gem in the Sawgrass area.
Playing Oakbridge
The course is better than a year ago, but still needs lots of work. The grass on the tees is sparse, the fairways are also lacking grass, but there's enough if you roll the ball anyway. The greens were in pretty nice shape. They putted true, but a little slow. There wasn't any bar food for golfers at the turn, or before you went out. There's a very nice restaurant if you want to sit down and eat. There was no cart girl, so no drinks or snacks on the course. We were allowed to carry our own out on the course. Hopefully, in the near future, they'll cater to golfers, like they do to lunch patrons.
