Diamond Valley Golf Club is an easy drive into Hemet Valley from a number of locations including San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. Though it's easily accessible, the course is tucked away in the San Jacinto Mountains, offering a feel of peaceful seclusion. The layout encompasses a variety of terrain, from scenic waterscapes to lush, rolling hills covered with native plants and grasses. With dramatic elevation changes from tee to green, this course isn't walker friendly, which can easily be overlooked if you're looking for a truly formidable test. The sloping nature of the landscape lends a different character to each hole and the elevated tees provide panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. One of Diamond Valley Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th. It's as scenic as it is challenging, requiring a short iron to wedge shot over a cascading waterfall.

Diamond valley golf course
Greens and t boxes were in good shape. As for the rest of the course the grass was pretty much yellow and dead. Lots of dirt in the fairways. It was probably because of what time of year it is. All beat up by the sun.
Death of a Great Course!
Diamond Valley had been one of the best golf courses in Rivrtside County until the drought. I hate to write this review because I loved this course. I played it 2 months ago and I was surprised with the condition it was in. But with the drought I could understand until yesterday. Now the fairways are 90% dead the greens and tees are in good shape. The driving range is a disaster, nice carts, a couple fairways were fine but with no water or more investment I'm very afraid this course might not survive. I loved this challenging course!! They are trying to just keep it alive. If you played this course you would like the layout and challenge of it. I hope we have a wet winter that will help save this once GREAT golf course.
Poor conditions
The grass is completely dead. If you hit your ball straight down the fairway you might as well go put your ball in the sand. Since we are in a drought I somewhat understand however a lot of the other golf courses have been on the recycled water program and this course is clearly not on any type of program. The club house is run down and has a musty smell. The score card was on a piece of computer paper that looked like it had been generated on an excel spreadsheet. Not worth the drive or money.
Terrible
We had a 7:08am tee time & the clubhouse didn't open till 7:05am. That left no time for the range. The range was all dirt anyway. Once on the course we realized that the only thing that was green was the greens, they were in good shape. The rest of the course was brown & dry. It was being watered by a guy driving around in a F150 through the middle of the fairways moving portable sprinklers. I later heard that 2 of the courses wells went dry so that would explain the terrible shape that the course was in. Looks like tract homes is what in store for this place.
NOT A DIAMOND
Staff of 1 covering registration, food, starter and marshal. The guy was totally rude and only wanted to discuss fees. Made me pay an additional $10 for the cart when the golfnow deal reservation indicated the cart was included. Course was fried.
Course needs water
I have been here many times over the years and I have never seen it so dry.
The fairways were mostly brown. One of the guys I played with said it wasn't like that last week.
diamond valley
Great golf course for the money. Greens and tee box's are great. Fairway need water but it is hot out there and water is tough to come by.
Good course for the money.
Rough is not maintained as well as it used to be. Has taken a downward step change over the years but easier to play than when it first opened.
Beginning of the end?
Course is going down hill fast. Fairways are brown and the greens are dry and shaggy, doesn't look like they have watered in a month. Seems like they are getting ready to close or sell the place, you know its getting bad when they are giving out black and white paper Xerox copies of the scorecard. Hope they do sell the place to someone who knows how to run a golf course.
Worth the drive
Played 18 holes last Thursday and I must admit, I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course though. Greens and fairways were in good shape. It's a pretty challenging course as most of the greens are elevated with some having false fronts as well as sides that run off pretty hard. The greens were rolling at a about 9 on the stimpmeter and were a bit firm so really didn't have to deal with balls spinning off the greens on approach shots. Some greens are multi-teared so it'll definitely be more challenging should they get the greens to roll at 11 or so. Played the tips which is roughly 6800 which is not long but if the wind starts to pick up like it did with us it definitely lengthens some holes and at times brings the junk and water hazards into play. Looking forward to teeing it up there again within the next few weeks.
worth the drive
interesting holes including some short par 4s
course is open enough for the average duffer to usually find their ball
when the wind whips up it can become quite a challenge.... morning is definitely calmer
no cart girl so bring your own beverages and snacks
on the 12th hole play the right half of the fairway to beat the slope
Not What I Was Expecting
I picked this course because I'm always trying out new courses. I read some of the reviews on Golfnow and thought it sounded pretty nice...it did have a three and half star rating. When we pulled up at the clubhouse, my first impression was not good. The clubhouse just looked run down and the bathroom inside wasn't any better. The only thing good about this course was the pace of play. We literally had no one in front of us we were waiting for and no one behind us pushing us forward. The other thing that I thought was funny was that on the back of their scorecard they say "Golf Digest gave them a 4 star rating"...yeah right, maybe after the place first opened! I would recommend staying closer to home and playing your local dive...unless you live in Hemet...then this place is perfect. Good Luck!
Excellent Golf Course...
I drove from San Diego to Hemet to play the course, worth the drove... The course is challenging and well maintained. Bring your game, there are several holes that were challenging. Well worth the money...Highly recommend to play the course.
Beautiful course
This course is a true gem in socal. Challenging and fun! You cannot beat the rates and scenery. I have played a lot of courses from Black Gold to Pelican Hill and this is still one of my favorites.
Diamond Valley
Best condition I've seen it in 10 years
The course is in great shape
The greens and fairways are in excellent. The greens play Alittle fast.
Fairways a bit dry and spotty
Had a great day of golf at Diamond Valley this is a fun course with lots of great hole layouts, stay in play as the boundrys can mean plenty of trouble and lots of lost balls as with many courses in s.cal the drought was most noticed on the fairways condition throughout the round the greens are very well kept a real pleasure to play are very receptive to that well placed shot all and all a fun round of golf i will make a return in near future oh and the lakes are very clean some of the best i;ve seen,..
Beautiful Day!
We had a wonderful time on this course. The greens were in great shape and the water hazards were pristine. If you lost your ball close to shore, the water was so clear you could easily retrieve it. All in all, we had a fine day with great friends and would highly recommend this course to others.
GREAT VALUE
This course was fantastic in its day for sure. Not in pristine shape but greens were certainly good enough. Tees not bad, fairways fine. Some very nice holes and a great layout.
Starting down
We had some strong wind so course was harder then usual. Fairways are starting to get more brown spots then a month ago, play usually slows down here after the Snow Birds start heading home. All ways like playing here because there are no houses and most fairways are wide...enough tricky holes to make round interesting, a lot of risk-reward 4 pars, people that can hit 3 woods over 230 yards can really score low..greens were on the fast side compared to any course in the area...
The fact speaks for itself. The customer was more than one hour late than his hot deal tee time and he brought a rider with him.
