Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Another good day at Las Sendas

This is probably my favorite course in the area. It's challenging, always in great condition and the people are very friendly.

For $200, no GPS Carts, no Towel in the cart for the round, no staff to grab your bag and place it in a cart. $10 for a over cooked and burnt bun hot dog. Was told to pick up pace because there were members behind us, even though we were ahead of pace. Cool design on the course, and good layout.

Quintessential Desert Golf

This is what I think of when I think Desert Golf. fairways and greens surrounded by desert and cactus. Tough but playable. Pay attention to the GPS there are a couple of tee shots where it's not completely clear where to hit it from the tee (more importantly where you can miss it) Greens rolled great not overly tricky. foreced carries are manageable if you play the right tees. Good variation of par 3 yardages. Course was in great shape would recommend if you are looking for desert golf in the Phoenix area I think most people would like this course.

Las Sendad

Sand in traps is very poor, basically tiny rocks that end up all over greens with green side bunkers. Greens are small and do not hold.which make some approach shots a matter of luck.

Perfect year-end golf splurge

Normally play in leagues around the area. Decided to have a nice round out of my usual set of tracks. Las Sendas was nice. It was in perfect condition and we played in a little over four hours--two of the foursome had never played there before, so that was pretty fast.
