Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.
Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.
A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

this is a great location and golf course layout.after playing this course for many years it is time to never return. the course refuses to get rid of the tons of goosepoop all over the place
I am sure if they dealt with the goose problem their rounds would improve a lot.a few friends of mine that used to golf their earned us not to go there. they were right.with all the infections etc this is also a health issue.too bad for McCormick.
Very nice Course
I actually played the Pine Course as they said it was open. Course was in very good condition. Had a great time.
Greens in terrible condition
Pock marked greens. Very slow play. Marshals on course but no improvement
Slow Day on the course
Round took five hours and not a Marshall in sight. Waited 10 minutes on most tee boxes. Greens were rock hard. Could not even hold well struck gap wedge.
Slow play and rough greens
Loved the layout and practice facilities. Greens need to be punched and sanded to get rid of ball marks. Pace of play was brutal!!
Conditions not the best
If off the fairway, your ball sits on dead hard dirt and impossible to hit from. Fairways were ok and greens decent but course looks ugly and plays poorly because of the dead grass and horrible sand/dirt in bunkers. Not 100 bucks worth for sure! Try another place
Poor first impression and unfair lies
Our first impression of the course was shaped by the condition of the golf cart. A busy day and obviously the cart had been just in service. But not cleaned at all for us. The floor was covered in dirt, there were no tees, the steering wheel was filthy . For a higher end course the Cart had a torn seat and there was no wind screen. It did have a GPS. We played in 4 hours 30 minutes. We waited on every hole. Several of the fairways and greens slope into the water, so even if you hit md fairway or green your ball is lost. There are better courses for less money in the area.
Very Tough Greens
Found greens very hard, balls bouncing hard and rolling off back
A 5 hour round at a resort course is ridiculous. The cart guys’ are only interested in the tips. I had to load and unload my clubs
Was not impressed at all
A friend and I played the Palm course for $90 each and we expected much more than the course offered. Good luck finding your way around the course between holes. The “cart side” signage is sparse at best. The fairways and greens were in decent shape but the rough was dead. It was very difficult to get a decent shot out of the brown, dead rough. We played at another local course the day before and would play that course again over this one any day of the week. Don’t waste your money.
I realize the course had just received 2+ inches of rain on Feb 21-22. The fairways were barely acceptable and the greens were terrible. The greens were covered with unrepaired ball marks, were extremely bumpy and slow, and were not mown. The condition of the course shows a general lack of maintenance. Not what I would expect from a resort course in Scottsdale.
Alot of rain few days prior
Course was in awful shape
Alot of empty bottles on fairway, and dead fish on 9th Fairway
The didnt bother to touch the sandtraps as they were concrete.
85 bucks was a waste
Shouldve spent the extra 20 to go golf elsewhere!
Been 6 years since my last round here. Course was in excellent shape, given the busy golf season. Greens did have lots of ball marks, but that’s more about players repairing dents vs course maintenance staff.
Pace of play about 4 hours. Tee boxes and fairways in excellent shape, and rough not long.
Greens need work
Great course but the greens had pock marks all over them. I’m assuming that people don’t repair their divots and the course is not bothering to repair them. Other than that it was well layed out .
Really busy but pace of play wasn’t too bad, tee boxes, fairways, and greens all in great shape. would be in BETTER shape if people would actually fix their ball marks on the greens. would recommend this course for sure. Range is artificial mats, but practice area and putting green were well done.
Too much brown grass along the fairways. The fairways were nice and green but it made an expansive course seem very narrow .
Ball mark city
Fairways were fine but the greens are absolutely thrashed with ball marks. Hundreds on every green. People need to learn how to fix their ball marks plus a few others. Not one spot on any geeen had a true roll. Awful pace of play, unacceptable really. After an hour frost delay, the round took SIX HOURS. Where the heck is a ranger?
Never again on a Sunday. I may give it a second chance on a weekday and see if the green-mines is an every day thing.
