The Heritage Harbor Golf Club measures nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees and is one of the more challenging public course layouts in the Tampa Bay area. Four sets of tees have been incorporated into the design, making the course fun for golfers of all skill levels. The swirling winds and strategically located bunkers will play havoc with the players of these finely manicured links. However, the large greens may provide some relief. The premium on the championship course has been placed mainly on the short game. Winding through natural areas and cypress heads, Heritage Harbor Golf Club offers many scenic, unobstructed views. Seven of the eighteen holes have no homesites adjacent to the fairways, offering great, uncluttered golf.

I have played here many times and this course has some interesting and challenging holes. In the 3.5 years I have been here, this is the best condition the course has been in. Reasonable amount of grass in the fairways, traps were thin but passable, but the greens are absolutely gorgeous right now. Beautiful, plush, consistent and roll well with very few blemishes. That alone was worth coming here today.
I hope they continue the good work.
Nice relaxing course
While the fairways are not the best and there were no rakes in the sand traps the pace of play was great. Arrives late due to the traffic was still able to hit a few balls and get out when we were ready. Nice relaxed atmosphere always very friendly players. Staff at the desk is always courteous and customer oriented.
This course keeps deteriorating due to lack of water, maintenance, and interest by the management. Fairways have little to no grass, you either hit off weeds or dirt. Greens are slow and bumpy. Some tees are simply dirt.
Good for the money
Course is average and what I expect for what I pay. Greens are pretty nice and roll good. Fairways and some tee boxes not that great. I wasn’t a big fan of the lay out but that all depends on the person I guess. Overall course was average and pace of play the 2 times I played has been excellent. I’ve played a lot worse that’s for sure.
Heritage Harbour is poor condition
The greens were pretty good but the fairways were terrible. More weeds than grass and the tee boxes were poor.
Great value, nice greens
Another great day at HH. Greens are really nice and played in 3.25 hours. Definitely has some tricky holes, used every club in the bag. Fairways a little thin in spots but the sand traps are nice and fluffy. Will play again soon.
Greens were good however fairways needs lots of work Staff very friendly
The course is in decent shape, especially for the price. Greens are really nice and pace was under 4 hours. New sand traps are also newly filled and soft. Shot makers layout with some challenging hole placements. Will play again.
This course used to be in good condition
We have played this course numerous times over the years. We hadn’t played it in probably 4 months. While the greens were in good condition the fairways were terrible, weeds, bare spots, not maintained.
love the course
lots of water but not much really in play from white tees.. very white, fluffy sand, traps were the difficulty of the course.
Have played here many times. Course is in good condition, greens are in nice shape, and pace of play was good.
I liked the course for the money we paid.. the tee boxes are rough , the fair ways had a lot of dead areas but we play a game allowing us to move to grasssy areas, the fairways and green were green either from local rain or sprinklers. The best part are the greens. They were in great shape and played true,
lots of water
slowest coarse I have ever played. two and three groups backed up every hole. five + hour round. Never want to see this place again.
A Great Day
We started with a quick lunch served by a very friendly staff, and then were well-served at the pro shop and by the excellent starter (Joe). On the course, the tee boxes and fairways were in fair condition, but the greens and the fringe were in excellent shape. Many doglegs with only a few straight fairways; a really good layout. We will be back.
Greens Are Great!
I play here a lot and the greens are absolutely beautiful. They are as good as I have ever seen here. Fairways are still rock hard and very thin, not much grass under a lot of the lies, so you may pick up mud on a lot of your shots. The greens get a 4+ and the fairways are a 3. They now have traps fully filled with soft sand-so they get a 4 as well.
Had a great time. Course is in excellent condition.
A Good Course - Today 'Harbored' Too Many Golfers
We have always enjoyed Heritage Harbor. Today was our 1st round before 9am and we won't do that again soon as it felt like a Holiday weekend Saturday it was so crowded.
This is one of the worst courses I've ever been to. I have never left a review on this site after several hundred rounds played, but I have reached my breaking point. The turf is awful. None of the bunkers have been raked for several days, and they're oddly proud of that. It's cartoonishly short. The greens have dirt patches. We got up to the tee and there were 4 groups on the 1st hole besides us despite the fact that there was no such thing on the tee sheet, apparently 4 groups of 14 people have a 'standing tee time' that we need to work around (behind)., It took 45 minutes to play the 1st 2 holes.
If you value your money or time don't give these folks any of it. There is no effort being put in. Even if you had this course to yourself it wouldn't help. I can't overstate how awful this course is. Calling it a country club is insulting, and if we're lucky it will go back to seed soon. The grounds staff apparently is already pushing it in that direction.
But I guess it's on GolfNow so you should know what you're getting into. Adverse selection. Sad.
