Nice resort course in good shape
Nice resort course with excellent greens. Fun layout. Not too demanding for novices. Front nine a little tighter with condos and houses lining the fairways. Back nine more senic when getting out near the ocean
Overall a pleasurable experience with welcoming staff .
Thank you for playing and your feedback on Barony - I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the layout!
Fun Day-Good Course
Very nice course and condition. Only on five minute delay. Good practice area.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your round at Barony, thanks for coming out to play!
Good value, greens in great shape, directions could use some effort, overall good time.
Thanks for coming out to play Barony and your feedback! Glad to hear you enjoyed and hope to see you on a future trip to HHI.
Barony has a good mix of challenging holes
The course was in great shape and the greens were perfect - not too fast or slow. The staff were very friendly. We would definitely play Barony again.
Thank you for coming out and playing Barony - glad to hear you had a good time!
Great layout, moderately challenging
Course is in great shape. Greens rolling well. Staff is super helpful. Clubhouse is being redone, so there’s a little hassle getting around, but no big deal. Course is challenging without being punished for every errant shot.
Thanks for playing and your feedback to Barony! Glad to hear you had a good time and hope to see you on your next trip to HHI.
Fun course and. A great value especially with a hot deal. Course layout was fun fairways and rough in good shape greens were in poor shape
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Barony and it's layout - it's definitely fun to hit the different shots the course requires!
I have played this course several times in the past and the greens have been in better condition. The greens were a little slower than normal and seem to have two different types of grass on some holes. Otherwise the course was as expected.
Thank you for playing and your feedback on Barony! Hope your travels are well and that we see you on a future trip to HHI.
We had a great time! They got us out 15 minutes early. The course was in good shape. We had to quit playing on the back nine, but was given a rain check for nine holes which I thought was really nice !
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your round, and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip!
Great deal on golf now. My wife and I had a wonderful time!
I'm glad to hear you were able to take advantage of a great deal and had a good time at Barony. Hope to see you on your next visit to HHI!
Overall, the course was in good shape. I played the white tees. Probably should've moved up one because I'm not long off the tee. As many have said, keep it straight off the tee! I would play this course again.
Thanks for playing and your feedback!
Hilton Head Golf - Old School Style
A beautiful, 1960s-era course with some ample fairways but also some tight ones, with plenty of hazards if you don’t hit it straight. It’s only 6500 yards from the tips, and it’s a fun 6500. Mostly smaller greens means you’d better have your iron game ready. The greens were very smooth, but a little - not a lot - slower than Palmetto Hall. They roll true and give you a chance to bang it into the back of the cup. Fun course and a great value.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Barony's layout! It's definitely a fun course with a little challenge to it. Hope your travels are well and we'll see you on a future trip to HHI!
Barony has wide fairways, small greens and the best sand in the traps on HHI. You have a variety of tees to choose from with the longest being 6500 yards.
The course is in good condition although the greens are slow.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your round on Barony! Thank you for playing and your feedback, hope to see you on a future trip to HHI.
Fun course on a hot day.
Played the course after opening from post hurricane closure, and was in overall good condition. Nice practice facilities. Tees and fairways well grassed. The greens were a bit on the slow side (part of the issue was we did not get to the practice green to adapt for speed). The sprinkler heads are marked for distance, if you can find them. (Posts, every 50 yards, would be helpful.) I would play the course again and recommend with the stipulation that you practice putt before going out on the course.
great course and friendly staff
great course, friendly staff, great facilities, a little pricey if you don't catch a deal. The layout is good and the course is not overly tough. Well worth giving a try.
Our team appreciates you playing Barony and your feedback! Glad to hear you enjoyed and hope to have you back on your next visit to Hilton Head.
Accuracy Is Key
This is a nice course with friendly staff and a solid practice facility. The course is short, I played from the longest tees and could only hit driver on the par 5s and one par 4. The fairways are wide and the layout requires you to work the ball in both directions. Tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition! Greens were slow due to a top dressing of sand from aeration a few weeks ago, but should be perfect in a week or so. The greens are quite small requiring accuracy on tee shots and approach shots. There is not much water or hazards so I would recommend this course as a fun outing for beginner-intermediate players.
Thank you for playing and for your feedback on Barony. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your round!
Nothing special about this course that would cause me to hurry back. Pretty typical HHI target golf. Did not think that the course was in as good of shape as some recent reviews claimed. Would rather drive another 15 minutes off the island and play HH National, Eagles Point (which I believe to be comparable in layout and conditions) and probably save about $50. Highlight of the day was Robber's Row Grill. Sad when 19th hole is the best part of round.
Thank you for playing and your feedback - I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Grille!
Our tee time was early and I was a little concerned the course would be very wet and muddy after heavy rain the night before. The course drained extremely well with only a few damp areas. After reading other post about the greens I thought I would be putting on a bumpy surface. I was proven wrong again! The greens rolled great and the speed was perfect. The course is challenging and requires a good approach shot! Plan on playing Robbers Row tomorrow!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your round on Barony! We're fortunate to have great drainage on the course to deal with these summer rains. Hope your travels are well and that we see you on a future visit to Hilton Head.
