Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Nice course, windy condition made it difficult
Played this course first time. The layout is excellent. However, due to extreme windy condition, it is not easy to play. The pace was slow. Overall it was great experience.
A wonderful track
I've been coming out to Vegas for years and think I've finally found my "home."
The clubhouse is absolutely stunning with beautiful views of the course and a seating deck outdoors. They were doing some light construction to the clubhouse and asked that we walk thru a side-entrance, but that didn't hinder our experience at all. I came as a 2-some and was paired with 2 singles who were both good ball strikers and great people.
The practice facility is top notch, with a full grass-range (unlimited balls), putting green, and a chipping/sand area.
The course layout is fantastic - fun challenges to be found everywhere around thec ourse. As a 5 handicap, it was fun playing the blacks but there were plenty of options for people of all levels.
The greens were running FAST and TRUE, which is my fav. combo.
Fairways, rough, and sand were all in great shape.
When the wind picked up later in the afternoon, things got quite tricky - especially when trying to hit the island green - but it's a fun challenge.
The landscape views are truly remarkable and are reminiscent of a sci-fi film.
All in all, it was a great day on the course and I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to play out here.
Could have been better.
Wouldn't you known it, we booked the tee time through the golf app and it got windy, too late to cancel.
The course condition was good, not excellent, remnants of the aeriating /sanding were present. My first time that I played 5 years ago, the conditions were excellent.
Pace of play, there was a line up at the second hole.
Then on the 4th hole the winds started and did not let up.
Father /son
My son and I have a ways to go on our golf game but this experience was great all around
Out of nowhere.
This course is in great shape and fun but it’s out of nowhere..
A must play when your in Vegas
Played this course 3 times and it never disappoints…I know there is a lot of courses to play down here in Vegas but this will always be my “go to course” whenever I come down..
Wind can get a little crazy but that just makes it more interesting..
Holy windy day Batman
I'll start off by saying that the wolf was one of the best courses I've played, only second to the Pacific Dunes course at Bandon.
The wind was a mild steady 25mph out of the southwest gusting up to at least 40. It wasn't too warm and it got a little pre rainey at the end of the round. We played the gold and found so many unique tee shots that go against my natural ball path plus having whipping headwinds. You get rewarded for making good shots and penalized for making either bad shots (good luck with that desert I never would have found a lost one out there) or for thinking you can just grab a driver every 300+ hole and have a bunch of great second shots. The greens are wildly fast. I don't know their language, but if I had to guess I would think "wolf" in Paiute actually means "glass greens" or something along those lines. I three putted on 10 holes and didn't even feel like with the wind and the green speed that I did all that bad!
I left tired, beat up, wind whipped and thirsty, and all I had to show from it was an 85.
I had so much fun and I can't wait to come back.
Excellent!
From the staff on the bag drop area, pro shop, and ground staff to the restaurant crew, their service are excellent. The course layout and conditions at Wolf course are great. Will try the other courses (Snow Mountain & Sun Mountain) next time to complete the experience at Paiute.
Brutal Conditions
The staff was excellent. Course layout terrific. It was brutal to play in the wind. At the same time fun and challenging the 3 club wind with slick greens first time playing the course. I look forward to playing again with mild conditions. Greens very quick. Need to know if the green was front to back or back to front on approach shots. GPS in cart gives you a green directional picture to help. Views of the snow topped mountain beautiful. I'll be back!
Wolf Course
Played the Wolf course which was rather repetitive in its look hole after hole but still worth it to play. The tees could be elevated more to see the fairways more and should have used more of a white sand like they do at Bali Hai to really make the course pop. Island green was a treat!!!!
