The biggest backup I've ever experienced!
We scheduled a tee time for our threesome at 12:56, showed up at 12:30 and found out that a morning tournament was running late so there were no carts available. We finally got carts for our threesome about 1:10 and were finally able to tee off at 1:20. What a logjam after that. We had a foursome waiting on every tee which were waiting on the foursome in front of them. By hole 3 we had the foursome in front of us, our threesome and the twosome behind us all at the tee box.
I realize the tournament went long but to have two to three groups waiting on every tee box is ridiculous!
To make matters worse on hole #15 the marshal told us to keep up with the group in front of us! We were on our third shot on a par 5 and the group in front of us was just getting on the green. After all that waiting, now the marshal comes out!!
The golf paths are also gravel and you just eat dust from the cart in front. I forgot why I hadn't played out there for a couple of years until I was there.
My advise, call ahead to make sure they are running on schedule. I won't be back but wish you a good time of you go.
Great Course For The Value
I love playing green mountain. It does lack the whiskey option at the turn, but you know what you are getting going into it. Has some good holes from the tips, a 200+ yard par 3 and a couple of par 5's that can be reached in 2 if played correctly, but hefty penaltys if missed. Really going to miss the course when it goes away in October. And for what, more houses that the area already has an excessive inventory of...
Fun Course
They have made a great effort to clear the brush along the fairways which makes it easier to find wayward shots. the greens are in great shape as are the fairways. The staff is very friendly. A couple of the par 3's are long and do require pure shots. The par 5's are reachable in two for longer hitters. I have golfed there frequently over the years and have noted significant improvements in the course.
this course is quite fun to golf
I was allowed to start earlier then my teen time and i was glad about that. All of the fairways were in good shape to me. Thay were all a good challenge to golf good. Thay seem to be kept in fine conditions daily.I will golf there again. And probally with a friend.
fun course to play
I here the course may be closing so play it soon the course is usually I better condition
Green are rolling nice.
Enjoyed the course. I think its great for everyone that is below intermediate level players.
Seven holes in two hours and 15 minutes
I don't have much more to say. There are other just as nice or nicer but you don't have to wait 15 minutes on each Teebox.
while you still can
This nice and very friendly course is slated for residential development later in 2014, which is too bad because it is a very fun and relaxing golf with wonderful staffs who remembered your names. I will miss it where my caddy wife can tag along for free.
Good Practice Course
Cannot beat the price for a practice round. Greens are slow and inconsistent.
Green Mtn review
GM is a great course and gives you everything...does not seem to ever be too busy if you want to just "show" up and play......
Good, tucked away course.
This was my second time playing GM and it was a great day to play. Shot better than my average probably due to me actually taking my time (I like to play fast). The conditions were great - sunny, dry, moist in the shade - kind of day. Greens were true, views were beautiful and it was overall a great round of play. The Pro Shop could use a better facility and it would be more inviting if there was a (or more noticeable) restaurant on the premises. The driving range is minimal but sufficient. The thick rough here is nothing to mess with, so stay out unless you want to look for your ball for ages. The course is very walkable though. Moderate hills but no drastic elevation changes. Good few holes with challenging club selection dilemmas. I do really like the course!
Great deal on golfnow
Found a deal on golfnow for only $18 to walk 18 holes. Great deal, but your going to want a cart, some holes are way too far apart to walk the whole time. Otherwise it's a fun course!
Nice course many people don't know about
I was very pleased at the course condition after all the rain we've had so far this season. This was my first time back in a couple years. The staff was very helpful and courteous. It looks like they are clearing out some of the scrub brush in some areas to help enhance your play and it will be easier to find your ball on that wayward shot. I will definitely be back again soon, this course was a real bargain at just 30 bucks if walkers. I prefer to ride because between some of the holes it more walking than I would like.
Green Mountain Sunday fun
A park or forest settings. nice NW views of trees and the Green mountain. Very quiet, easy to walk. Most paly especially in the late spring and summer
