Banchory Golf Club

About
Less than 20 miles from Aberdeen, Banchory Golf Club has a long history of delivering a great parklands golf option to Scotland. Built in 1905 and originally designed by John Souter, Banchory has the antiquity and location to make it a popular outing both for locals, as well as those who have hooked up a Scotland golf package.
Set above the scenic River Dee, Banchory is a scenic par 69 layout that will challenge golfers of all levels. Because while not particularly long at just over 5,801 yards, strategically placed bunkers, mature trees and the waters of the River Dee provide obstacles that can test low handicappers as well as high.
Including a memorable clubhouse, as well as lessons from the club pro, Banchory Golf Club has stood up to the test of time for more than 100 years, and seems to get better every year.

Great Park Land course
Played here a few times, excellent greens and interesting layout,
Some wide fairways and not much heavy rough, and trees not cut too low, so errant shots can at least be found - plenty of out of bounds areas though so be careful.
Two very interesting par 3s up and down the hill at the start and end of the course, and Banchory's version of amen corner is very challenging, especially for a shorter hitter - 190 yards over water to a small green the highlight,
Small pro shop at start, nice bar and facilities in the club house.
Would recommend
Banchory
Still very much winter conditions, i will play again during summer
Beautiful Banchory
What a stunning course the conditions were typical 4 seasons in one day and course was immaculate.
My lads were also very impressed and said it’s one of the best they have played.
Great course
A great parkland course in a stunning setting along the river Dee. Every hole has its own challenges and some interesting par 3’s. The staff are friendly and the greens are in good condition as is all the course. It’s well worth a visit if you’re in Deeside. I would recommend the course without hesitation
Banchory Golf Clib

What more could a person wish for
Banchory
Good and well maintained course excellent clubhouse facilities.
Overplayed and tired
Played the course for the first time in 25 years and was a bit disappointed. Felt over played and dreadfully slow round.
Banchory
Very nice course
Shame most of the greens had been plugged as they really didn’t play well
Ground staff were also mowing greens and made us wait at least 4 times on approach shots
The rest of the course was top notch
Aberdeenshire’s Augusta
Cracking course, fairways and greens were in outstanding condition, has to be the best parkland front 9 in the Aberdeenshire area.
Course in brilliant condition and greens are the best I've ever seen them!
Great course in great condition
First time playing this course, but was very impressed with the course layout and the condition of the course and the greens.
The pace of play was unfortunately very slow, but still enjoyed it.
A little disappointed that they were not serving any food in the clubhouse (apparently there is no food on a Sunday, which seemed like a missed opportunity) as we were planning to eat there as well, but we just found somewhere in town instead.
