Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center
About
Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center is situated just 30 minute from the suburbs of both Milwaukee and Chicago. It is popular among locals for being one of the area's best values. Despite its convenient location, the course feels tranquilly secluded thanks to the miles of picturesque countryside surrounding it. Mature trees dot the rolling landscape, coming into play along the fairways and framing most of the holes. Water hazards come into play on four holes. Strategically placed bunkers are also lurking near most of the greens. The golf course is challenging but offers a playability that makes it appealing to a range of skill levels. Four diverse sets of tees make it even more approachable. There is also a lighted grass driving range and expansive chipping and putting areas available at Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center.

ZZZZZZZZZ
The day was beautiful. The course was in good shape but after playing 4 holes we were waiting on every tee. The wait was more than 10 minutes on a good share of the holes and often times two groups waiting. There was no rangers on the course to make sure the players were moving at a good rate. It could have been very nice if we could have moved a little better. 2 hours and 40 minutes on the back nine.
Nice spot
Nice course and nice staff, was very muggy and hot so they were giving out a free gatorade with our rounds. Greens were a little shaggy but probably due to the hot week of weather.
nicesenery
play with my wife so course isgood for her learning how to play ,we enjoy playing tigetherit was a nice day and of play was great [this time ] has been slow in the past, fairways pretty burned up, green's ok roll true
ridiculous Pin placements
I have played this course hundreds of times over the past 10 years and right now it is a complete joke of what it once was. Last time I played was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and I am baffled at no starter at the first tee box. People just show up and get in a long line of carts regardless of their tee time. Another ongoing problem from last year is the rough isn't cut at all or at least not very often. We used to play a 4 or 5 sum every Sunday and finished in 3.5 hours or less, not any more. We look for balls on every hole that end up in the rough (right next to the fairways) add that up on every hole and your rounds now take 4.5 to 5 hours for no good reason. CUT THE ROUGH! Another ridiculous problem is the pin placements. On Sunday there were 14 of the 18 pins tucked away on the corners of the greens less than 10 feet from the edge of the green and most of them on hills. This is not a championship golf course there are mostly 15- 25 handicappers out there and it is NOT fun trying to chip to these pins and of course all the 3 putts.....AGAIN adding to the total time of the round. ONCE A NICE friendly sporty course has turned into a joke.....just be aware when you book your tee times that you will be looking for balls all day and shaking your head at every pin placement. The pin placement problem isn't a 1 day thing, it has been going on since last year! It just doesn't make sense for these problems to keep re-occurring. It was a Holiday weekend and after 9 holes we went to get drinks and the bar tender was no where to be found...and no cart girl until after 11 that day! No FUN!
Fun course
Great location, great bargain. Challenging enough so check for times often throughout the season
Good Course, first time out
The course layout is fairly easy, but still has its challenges. Some of the par 4's are short, so I would suggest playing the longest tees. I played the whites, and drove the green or near to it on a couple of those holes. One par 4 was only 289 from the whites (the whites play second longest), and I drove the front of the green. It is a good course, and great for the value. I will definitely go to this course again.
Golf Friday then All you can eat Fish Fry
Loved the golf/all you can eat fish fry Friday. We wanted to try our friends bar "Silver Lake Marina" (Salem, WI) Friday all you can eat Fish Fry so we found a golf course, Bristol Oaks close by. What a great day! Golf was great, fish was great, service was great! Recomend for all golf, fish and beer lovers!
No cart
Bought tee time at golf now 18 holes with cart. When we got to the course they said that they aren't allowing carts anymore so we ended up walking only nine holes. Totally disappointed that they didn't update their no cart policy with golfnow we could have played at another course that still allowed carts, waisted weekend plans!!
Great deal through Golf Now.com could not pass it up
Tried the special from Golfnow.com, was impressed as to how easy it was to utilize coupon and the price was fantastic.
Will check Golfnow.com when I am going to play as a single since many of the really great deals are on the day I am looking to play(spur of the moment).
Bristol Oaks Country Club
The Good: Inexpensive, tree-lined layout about 30 minutes southwest of Milwaukee is no upscale facility and not pretending to be. Some interesting holes, in particular some good Par 3's, as well as some good reachable Par 4 and Par 5's that provide opportunities for birdies. Greens hold iron shots pretty well. Decent clubhouse with banquet area. Fair value at under $50 during peak season; usually has many online deals for much cheaper. No houses!
The Bad: Conditions at Bristol Oaks are not good. The fairways are shaggy and inconsistent, while the greens are relatively slow and bumpy. Not much variety in the Par 4's, particularly on the front half. Limited on and off-course amenities as there are no GPS, restroom areas, and full cart paths throughout the layout. Limited practice facility with only fair driving range and small putting green. No short game practice area. Staff is nice enough, but no real emphasis for on-course service.
The Verdict: At the right price, Bristol Oaks can be an enjoyable golf experience if you don't have high expectations. Otherwise, if you want to pay nearly $50 to play golf near Milwaukee, play somewhere else.
Best Hole: The Par 3's are good, but the best hole is the dogleg left Par 5 #16. A well placed drive over trees can set up an approach to go for the green in two.
best value
This course is probably the best bang for your buck. Well cared for and great practice facility at a great price.Would recommend to anyone.
Greens are tough
The course was in good shape but a few of the greens let it down. The grass could have been a little better. Other then that, I had a great time!
A Pleasure
Pleasant people, price and pace. will do it again. That's all the words I have, just filling space to reach your minimum.
Great Day of Golf
Had a fun time with my son and 12 yr old nephew. As a senior it was all I could handle but really enjoyed myself. I've played this course before and always try to get out when I come to Racine each summer from out of state.
Nice little course
Nice course. Rough was nice and tall, fairways were nicley kept and the greens were challenging.
More Water!
The greens were hard and punishing good shots to the green. The tee boxes were dry. No water in the fairways either. The fees are high, spend some money to water. Pace of play was slow and the ranger didn't help. Very disappointed.
Old time country club
I'm 66years old and this is the kind of facility I grew up on . Large practice area, large clubhouse where you could hold large events. A real men's and ladies locker rooms with all the amenitys.
Weekend Hacker
Not a fan of so many greens on a plateau..If you miss the green you are chipping uphill from nasty thick club grabbing rough. Greens were smooth but sloped and most holes were cut on top of a hump. Driving range has normal grass instead of tee box grass. Weather was very hot and could not hold the greens with my Titleist soft balls..
Nice course, friendly staff
First time there...staff was so friendly. Marshall provided assistance with layout of course. Very good condition overall.
bring a lawn mower
course was in very poor/un kept condition, the ruff is a foot tall grass right off fairways, tee boxes too plush and tall grass patches, fairways needed serious mowing, sand traps are rock hard. very disappointed over all. Unless you want to spend 5 minutes looking for a drive that rolls 1 foot off the fairway, go else where. Serous maintenance and upkeep issues.
