Dix hills
It rained hard the night before but they did a good job having the course ready and playable. It’s a good place to get in a quick nine holes.
Didnt get to play due to weather
The Dix Hills course was closed when i arrived and didnt call and let me know till i got there. Would like a credit for my fees i will use it to play next week
Great course
This is a great course. Got there earlier than my tee time and went right out. Pace of play was good and course is in great shape.
Doesn't get much better for a local 9-hole course
I've been playing this course since I was in middle school and it really is the best for a local 9-hole. As another review mentioned, there are some "dead spots" around the course, which isn't really avoidable considering the weather + the fact that it's a public/town course priced at $20 a round ($31 with cart). There's a little driving range for warm ups and a decent practice area for chipping/pitching, as well as a nice putting green. Both starters in the proshop are SUPER cool.

Quick Game
I had a plenty experience on a summer Thursday morning. I got right out, no wait. Most tees are elevated, the fairways are wide and the greens are big. Good for a new golfers like myself. Took under 2 hours to play 9.
Good for a round with a young son or daughter. Pace of play is slow
Decent place to practice
Short 9-hole course, mostly par 3s
The good:
It’s a good place to practice your short game.
The bad:
Not much challenge
If you go during the day make sure there isn’t a woman’s scheduled. If you get stuck behind them, 9 holes can take 4 hours (and I’m not exaggerating .
Dix Hills
It’s what you’d expect it to be. A mildly challenging 9 hole course. The bunkers weren’t terribly difficult, nor was the rough too high. My only gripe, if I have to have one, was the multiple “dead spots” on the course but that’s not their fault it’s due to the constant raining on Long Island. I thought for how wet it has been the greens and fairways were in good condition ( minus what I mentioned above)
