The Cally Palace Hotel features a private golf course that is carved from the scenic parkland that surrounds the hotel. The course closely follows the natural contours of the landscape and utilizes the towering trees that dot the terrain. Golfers playing the course will have the opportunity to behold panoramic views of Cardoness Castle, Rutherford’s Monument, and the Fleet Estuary. In addition to the spectacular scenery, the layout offers a challenge for all skill levels with hidden burns and water hazards throughout provided by the Cally Lake. The Cally Palace Hotel also offers a practice area and putting green for golfers to use. Conveniently since the golf course has no members or competitions, it is rarely ever crowded.

Peaceful and Enjoyable

An interesting course that has a few challenging holes, The course is gently undulating with quite a few long walks between holes. Greens were ok but the fairways were covered in grass cuttings which somewhat spoiled the overall course condition.
We enjoyed our round at Cally Palace and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates peace and quiet and enjoys a leisurely round

Whole course to myself! ;-)

Only one mad enough to go out as it was torrential rain on most of the day. Greens held up to the deluge until the last few holes where they were waterlogged. Had a bearing on green speed, but surfaces were nice and true, just a little slow. Everything else on the course in excellent condition.
Did not see facilities as had to drive straight on afterwards, but the Cally Palace Hotel looks amazing. Staff at reception, very friendly and helpful.

Great course

This is a really great course. The setting is perfect. The layout works really well. New owners are in place and ground staff are visible and working hard. This said there is still some work to get to its former excellent condition. The fairways had been mowed but left too long as grass clippings all over the place. This said greens and bunkers were just perfect. Would recommend and will be playing again.

Beautiful course in stunning parkland.

Buy a course planner. Positioning is important on dogleg holes.

Great course

This is one of our favourite courses. A great layout with some great views etc. The hotel and course was for sale when we played and was just going through. I suspect they had scaled down on the green staff and costs as the bunkers had weeds in them and lack of sand. The course fairways were not as cut and tidy as usual. Hopefully the new owners will address this. That said we still very much enjoyed the course and would recommend

Disappointed

The course has never let me down before but the greens were poor and some of the fairways were uncut. It’s a shame really, great wee course but lacking a lot of TLC

Great Find

Found this course while on holiday in the area, it’s attached to the hotel therefore there’s no clubhouse or professional shop, but nevertheless that doesn’t detract from the experience. Well presented with magnificent trees along the fairways with heavy undergrowth (many lost balls), greens are good and relatively flat throughout the course. Definitely will go back if I’m in the area again.

Driver won’t be needed all the time

What a course! Gear up for a few crackers. 1st and 18th was a 7 iron and 56 ! Position is Critical. Nice mixture of long and short on par 3/4/5s. The cabbage is deep. Don’t bother looking if you hit one in there. Hopefully they keep watering. Some greens getting badly burned. Best value for golf ever found. Staff at reception were brilliant. Same for lads in the 19th. Look out for the par 5 13th. 4 iron then 2 9 irons . Yep at a par 5! Snake like hole with. Pretty much no fairway and water before it. Will definitely play again
