dry but wet
it had been raining for days so lost a lot of balls due to them being plugged in the ground. and could not find them more so on the lower part of the course.
this was information that had been given by the club pro before we set off. apart from that had a lovely sunny day and a fantastic round of golf.
After all we do live in Scotland where it rains most days so to get a round in the sun was lovely.
Rough Rough Rough!
Walked off the course by the fourth hole after seeing two semi-naked guys urinating all over the green and so drunk they could hardly stand... they were also trying to play a round of golf. I reckon there were more peaceful tours of Afghanistan than a round of golf here!
Dalmuir
Fantastic day out. Played a four ball matchplay. The course was excellent with great par 3s.
Dalmuir.
Good course layout and well maintained during current conditions. First time playing here.
Good wee challenging course
Great condition for a municipal course.
Bunkers need sorting out but other than that it's a tidy course.
4 ball first time at course
Good course, some nice holes, course isn’t well signposted though, impossible to know where the greens are from a large majority of the holes - should have hole layout on the scorecards or on the tee box plaque. For new players to the course it’s very difficult to keep score down due to not knowing where to play to and having to lay up on a lot.
Very hilly course not for the feint hearted.
Greens we’re great and really challenging, big breaks and slow pace caused havoc which made it really enjoyable.
Overall would play the course again 100%
Good test of your abilities
Excellent parkland course. Well layed out, fairways and greens in good condition. A good test of your golfing abilities for all levels.
Not Bad For A Council Course
Was desperately looking for a course to play on a Saturday morning, most were closed for visitors due to competitions & COVID. Course itself was ok, first 12 holes are enjoyable with a few challeneges, and the last 6 holes become a very tough walk up and down a hill. Greens were good, although with it being a council course the standard/etiquette of golfer may not be as good and there were loads of unrepaired pitchmarks. The fairways were pretty long, and the bunkers were unplayable, rock hard sand and full of weeds. Overall, it is worth the £15 I paid to get a game on a Saturday morning but I wouldn’t rush back.
Dalmuir gem
A course with a fantastic array of holes ranging from the usually easy wee drop to a very long and uphill road hole. You deffo need to be fit as it is very undulating at times but overall an absolute gem and cheap as chips and I love it .
Dalmuir golfy
The golfy is a great place tae go whether your an auld duffer playing golf or yer way yer troops getting onit. Bangin place fur fires nd getting tokes. Good onit spot anol.
Great course the whole course was excellent and well took care of ,.also litter free ,
Golf plus a workout!
The course was in great shape - especially the greens - and not at all what I expected from a municipal course. Front 9 is straightforward with a few slopes but mostly flat. The back 9 is a different story! Hole 13 was punishing on a hot day without an electric trolley. 14 & 15 were hard going (for me anyway) so the downhill 16th was a welcome sight!! Overall it was a good day's golf.
One of the best council run courses.
Great first 12 holes then becomes very hilly and tiring. some great little par 3's. Bunkers could do with a little TLC, however conditions were otherwise fantastic.
First Time
First time on the course and some of the holes were challenging but very enjoyable. Will go again
Dalmuir on a Covid 19 day
Some very interesting holes; some fairly standard, relatively uninteresting ones. Greens in very good condition. Very, very hilly in places- a good workout! Need to be fit to manage (and enjoy) 18 holes here. Friendly welcome but relatively few amenities- toilets not open, for example. Overall, however, very enjoyable day out- I will be back.
