The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Great Value - Fun Course
Wide open, fun topography, good value! I will definitely be back!
Great Course!
My boyfriend and I played golf here and had a great time! Challenging fairways!
Course did not disappoint.
Only reason I did not give complete 5 star is the sand traps. Was told before my round of the conditions so I was not surprised. Very challenging layout cost me a few strokes on this first round. Look forward to playing again soon.
Super nice staff
Always in great condition. The staff is super nice and friendly.
Great course
One of the best in Florida not to mention the entire country!
Always a good time playing and excellent condition.
Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed the round.
Hot day, great golf!
Yes it was hot but the course is in great shape. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Middle of the day and it seemed that we had the course to ourselves.
Love this course. Best public community golf course in Jacksonville
Overall I find this to be the best public community golf course in Jacksonville. Because of the layout the undulating greens the quality of the greens the limited number of houses encroaching in the course
Just fabulous.
Appreciate the comment! Arnie did a good thing keeping those houses set back of the course. Sometimes we forget there are houses even out there!
Very enjoyable experience
Nice Layout with varying elevation, various tees available and nicely maintained.
You won’t be dissapointed if you play this course.
Good weather certainly helps keep the course up to snuff! We have added a few combo tees, so now there are even more choices to play fro.
I have played this course every year that we come to Amelia Island. It is always one of the best conditioned courses in the area and beats the heck out of Fernandina Beach golf course. I encourage you to make this part of your golfing vacation.
Always a pleasure
My favorite course in NE FL. Saw the reviews about the greens and spoke with a player who played last month when it sounds like the greens had the fungus and I can say 100% that whatever was wrong has been completely fixed. Greens and overall course in fantastic shape! Great time and will be back soon!
All it takes is a little heat and sunshine and everything perks up from the winter! Thanks for checking us out!
Great course!
Great course, friendly staff & excellent condition. Can’t wait to play it a second time now that I know a little more about each hole. Greens & fairways were superb. Highly recommended!
North Hampton
Golf course was in very good condition and staff very friendly. We got off on time and course played well
Very disappointed
Played the course in early March, the course was in poor condition. Albeit the winter was tough. Greens were very frost damaged and rough. I gave the course a second chance in late April. Green were terrible ! I asked the pro shop if the course has improved since March and his response was, "the course is in good shape". I stopped at the putting green and it was all damaged and rough. The course was in terrible shape ! No point of having descent fairways if the greens are no good when you get there. I wouldn't recommend this course at this time.
We noticed you played in March but posted this in late April. We've been in the best shape of any course in the area since mid April and have only gotten better. Don't be shy about a return trip.
Beautiful course but in very bad shape.
Sand traps were undergoing work on the first 5 holes so they were unplayable. However, the other sand traps were hard as a rock, and basically unplayable. But the most disappointing issue was the condition of the greens....full of sand and dead grass that made your putt bounce along once you hit it, making putting all but impossible.
We did have the bunkers on holes #1-#6 marked as ground under repair due to the bunker renovation. As you clearly mentioned, the other "sand traps were hard as a rock". This is the big reason for the bunker renovation. #1-#6 will be completed by the end of the week, and we will be moving forward with the project.
Stay Away For a While Longer
Fantastic layout but they butchered the greens and let the sand traps go. Greens seem to be coming back a bit but still an embarrassment. Glad all I paid was a hot deal rate of $35. The course is not ready for prime time. A shame, as it use to be well worth the trip. Still a great track, but stay away for at least another 3 months... .maybe more.
Glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes it's worth the sweat to have that private club feel!
