Colts Neck Golf Club
About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Challenging Holes
Very good conditions for this time of year. Although the layout is not one of the most friendly for a walker, there are many challenging holes for the above average golfer.
Lack luster given the area
Nice course, hard to navigate. Staff is cold, store is limited, facilities are sparse.
Disappointing for the $$$
Greens and tee boxes in bad shape. Yet they keep raising prices . Driving range matt is also in horrible shape. And they charge $10 for a small bucket. Unfortunately they seem to know we have limited place to play . Very few ball washers and few they had out didn’t have water in them.
Its getting there
Love the layout, it is a tad short but not that short to not go driver on most holes. You can tell they upgraded the drainage because the course was 75% dry which is impressive for all the water we got in the last two weeks. Bunkers are great. Greens need some work but it is expected this time of year. Wish there was any options to grab a beer or food for nonmembers. Will be back.
Colts Beck GC
Having come off many days of rain, the course was not under water and in pretty good condition The bunkers had no pools of water and although the bottoms were firm, there was actual sand on the walls. The fairways were cart path only but very playable. The greens were a bit bumpy, but still better than newly aerated greens and certainly better than temporary greens. The layout is good in that accuracy is required but the course does not punish you if you are not perfect. 18 is a long par 3 over water and I hope the next time I play there, I’m not playing 18 with a 25 mile headwind. All in all, it was a good experience.
horrible exp
they accepted the booking and payment was made
but course was closed for weather.
I drove over an hour to get there but closed.
no notice at all, they did not cancelled by booking
took my payment and no way to get a refund of it
Winter golf
To play at this time of year is always a treat. The course conditions were what one would expect for February. I was a little concerned at the amount of divots in the fairways and the poor conditions of the tee boxes. Hopefully the grounds crew can get them in shape for the season. Greens were on great shape, even for the winter. They must be incredible during the season. Pace of play was brutal. The group in front of us stopped to look for balls on every hole, then proceeded to walk up to the green, drop a ball, chip, then putt!! To ALL (Dont come out and play golf if you can't follow golf etiquette). Then, when the ranger came around, he waved and said nothing. He didn't even slow down. Not good. If you're going to let anyone play, you may want to move the beginners along, or space out the tee times to every 12 minutes, just saying. Another thing that really irks me is, If you're going to charge $85 for a 1:36pm tee time, IN THE WINTER, don't keep telling me i have to have the cart in at 4:30pm by beeping the cart every 15 minutes!! Sundown was at 5:40pm. For $85, you will get the cart at 5:30....maybe.
Overall, the course was adequate for a February round. Staff was friendly, but the price was too high. Luckily, *TEEOFF.COM have me a nice coupon which made it a bit more bearable.
Nice course
Despite the busy day, the course ran like a well oiled machine.
All the staff was attentive. For the start of the season the course is in great shape. The greens were being aerated but that was fine. When we booked we were notified of it. The holes are a little narrow so a few balls landed in our fairway and tee box. So big hitters beware. Highly recommend.
Coin Toss
I don’t know if this course is worth $95 for 18 unless you live close by. Some holes under maintenance, funky looking greens, but it is April I guess. Don’t go here if you’re a beginner, greens will eat you alive. Starter was nice guy.
Great Day on the course
We were hesitant to book a tee time after the rain storm we just had a couple days ago. To our surprise this course was in great shape and drained really well. The bunkers were not flooded and raked beautifully. My only gripe was that the layout can be confusing if you’re playing it for the first time. I can’t wait to see what this course will look like when the season begins!
Good Course
Staff were friendly, pace of play was good. Layout was good, a lot of dog legs and tons of bunkers with good sand. Course is short but has graded and hard greens. Conditions were really good for November. We were paired with another twosome that were friendly. Greens were fast, probably lightning in August. I would go back with a Golfnow hot deal but probably wouldn't pay full price. They also did not have any food or drink available after 3pm.
Greatly improved
I've played Colts neck golf club several times and generally conditions are OK. to good right now, they were very good.
