Verde River Golf & Social Club
About
Verde River Golf & Social Club (formerly known as Tegavah Golf Club and Vista Verde Golf Course) has a desert style layout that features panoramic views of Four Peaks, the Superstition Mountains, Weaver's Needle, and the Tonto National Forest. In addition to the scenery, the golf course also presents interesting challenges such as subtle contours and desert wasteland areas that guard the holes. The greens lead to generous landing areas that require precision and length. Although only one water hazard comes into play on one hole, there are several sand bunkers strategically situated throughout. Verde River Golf & Social Club offers five sets of teeboxes to offer suitable challenges for players of all skill levels and abilities.

Pleasantly surprised
Went thru golfnow hot deals great deal beautiful course. Recently over seeded cart path only and they park you a long way from the greens. The greens were very slow but when they speed them up this course will be 5 star for your money! Look forward to playing it again.
Great track
It is worth the drive to play. The course came out of overseed in good condition and while a few greens were still recovering from summer heat stress, everything else was perfect.
Driving range was a little wet and muddy ( not the usual) and staff is helpful and friendly.
My wife really liked the course and while there are 2-3 par 4 layouts I'd change (4 iron off tee) it's fun.
Great Value
This is a solid desert course , very fair . I played the black/gold combo . The greens were slow because of the over seeding but they will be great once they cut them down . Great shape, nice views and quiet as you are out in the middle of the desert.
Gorgeous from Tee to Green and Green to Tee on almost every hole
The fairways are particularly friendly and wide, making the experience a lot more enjoyable than playing a tight "desert" course like the one I belong to.
The whole layout is conducive to having a great golf outing and doesn't make it so much "work".
Just opened
I like this course and I like the views. However, they are "improving the course" but they are still chafing top dollar. There is no putting green. The fairways were soggy in many places due the the recent rains. I want a course that tells the truth. It wash't in great shape and I don't feel like I got my monies worth.
One of my favorites
Every time I come to Arizona I make sure I play this course. It's an upscale course without the outrageous pricing. Great dessert layout without any houses spoiling it. Staff is always friendly and course conditions are always great. I played it twice and I was only here for a week. Would have played it more but unfortunately there are just so many other courses around that I enjoy
Hidden Gem
Vista Verde is one of the premier courses in Arizona. I love the recent course changes. The course is always in pristine condition. The only problem is the absence of a putting green.
Scottsdale's Little Known Gem
It's out of the way and not known or talked about as much as the other top courses in the Valley, but from a pure golf perspective, Tegavah (Vista Verde) offers as much as any other course out here. Excellent conditions, great views, wide playable fairways but plenty of challenge for the better player. And at this price, the value is unmatched.
When I played, there putting and chipping greens were out of commission, which is unfortunate. There were some dead spots in the first green, but every other green was perfect and rolled well. The rough is long and lush but was being cut while I was there.
The course also offered complementary water bottles. Along with the new clubhouse facilities (trailers, but nicer than that suggests), I really can't recommend this course enough.
Fantastic layout
Played this course in the middle of the day,Great layout interesting holes very peaceful. This should be a must play on your list
Great Day
Course was in great shape for this time of the year. Very pleased with all the new changes that have taken place this year. Must play
Lovely links style course
Although the facilities are somewhat basic, the course is a little gem.
The links style means it's sometimes hard to be sure where to hit the ball. This is just the way the designers play with your mind, there's always a bit more room than you think.
The condition of the course was excellent, with the greens running a little faster than other courses I've recently played.
I look forward to the next round, & would highly recommend it.
great views of the mountains
the layout of the course and the conditions were good, the greens were fast and true. some holes were target golf but on most holes the fairways were generous. my wife thought the course was difficult with too much hazards. the course could use distance markers like the 150 and 100 yard markers. sprinkler heads difficult to find so take your own laser finder or GPS system
Well worth the drive to play
A great course design that was well worth the hour drive. Played 3 days after the "storm of the century" in Phoenix, and only a few spots showed the effects. Hats off to the maintenance crew! Spacious landing areas off the tee and very receptive greens. Can't wait to play it again....Only downside, driving range and practice greens closed until overseeding is complete.
My perspective
Although I only rated the course on an average as good, I played it right after AZ had the most rain in a hundred years, so the crews were out in full force preparing water runoffs, cleaning cart paths, etc. The course was very playable and enjoyable, even after playing it the next day after all the rainfall. Credits to the outside staff.
The shop staff were very outgoing and made you feel welcome; although it would have been preferred to be told that carts were cart path only, before I paid. I would have still played, but having that information may have made a difference if my wife was with me, she does not like cart path only.
Overall, very satisfied.
Nice layout, needs work
Nice golf course but it lacking in yardage markers and cart paths. There is much work to be done to bring the facility up par.
Mountain View's are awesome.
Very enjoyable course. Not extremely difficult, but not easy either. The view's are awesome with hardly any homes along the course. The staff was very friendly, and when most courses in the valley this time of year have limited to almost no staff that was not the case here.I will be coming back here again.
rivals other great n scottsdale courses
Such a well kept secret in North Scottsdale.
Course and greens were in perfect condition. As well groomed as Troon North where I once lived and have played many times.
Tee boxes are set up to offer length to challenge any handicap
Great views
Course was in good shape after the rain we had recently. Rough needs to be cut. Was really deep.
Had on of the best drives this year on 18. about 315 yards.
Vista Verde
The course is in a "yet to be built" subdivision. Fairways were excellent with the greens a bit slow (but it was shortly after the big rain which did washout some adjacent areas). Overall, nice course.
Hidden Gem/Must Play
Wow!! Unbelievable conditions for the dead of Arizona heat. Greens were outstanding and conditions were great. There is some renovations going on with the new ownership but it doesn't affect the course itself. This is must play course if your willing to take the 25 min drive from the 101 Pima freeway exit.
New favorite course in AZ.
