Panama Country Club
About
Panama Country Club is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway along the Gulf of Mexico. Donald Ross designed the golf course in 1927. Eight of the holes still reflect his original work. The fairways range in size from narrow to medium width and they are strategically routed through the natural features of the environment, not only preserving them but also allowing them to come into play. The course is mostly flat, making it pleasant to walk, but there are a few subtle contours that provide a challenging element to the layout. A number of holes also feature water hazards. The small greens play fast, indicative of the era in which they were built. Panama Country Club's greens are in consistently good condition year-round thanks to a 2005 resurfacing project.

Best manicured course in the area/ IMO
My wife and I teed off at 1PM & had some waiting on the front 9, but back was clear sailing finishing in just under 3 hrs. The course is totally over seeded except the rough. the bunkers where done, fairways & greens cut and well groomed. we played 1 day after heavy rains and only had a few soft spots, and no special cart restrictions. The course is lush looking.
Pro shop staff super friendly, even though we were booked through golfnow on at a great price. He had our names and didn't ask for any paperwork. Best reception that I have ever received using Golf now bookings.
Nice gem of course, couple of hidden ponds to watch out for.
This was a great value deal. Very nice & pretty course. Fairly open, but short dogleg holes play longer due to positioning. Couple of hidden ponds that you have to watch out for. Wife enjoyed playing it which is always important. Definitely on our play again list.
Enjoyed the course.
We paid for 18 holes. We started the first 9 holes but we were behind an 8 some and in front of them was a 6 some. We finished the first 9 in about 2.5 hrs but with the back up on 10 with those two groups in front of us we decided to play the first nine again because there was no one playing. We would not have been able to play 18 if we had played on behind those 2 groups. Please note this is not a complaint but wanted to let someone know that this was problematic. We are easy to get along with however.
Hidden treasure in Panama City area
I found the course to be a great course, well maintained and reasonably priced for the area. I'll will play it again.
Nice old style course
Played this course end of October. Course had been recently over seeded so the greens were fairly slow. But for the price it was a very enjoyable round
Fast Play Bargain
Excellent older course. Very challenging yet fair test of golf. Course played soft/long due to greens staff watering in over-seeding for the winter months.
great golfing experience!
I have wanted to play this course for a long time now and was able to do so with a great deal from golf now. The course was everything I expected and more a very challenging layout with lots of dog legs that required you to shape shots both ways, bunkers were well maintained and the greens were in awesome shape, the only thing that kept me from giving five stars were the yardage markers not enough of them and it was not explained if distances were measured to front or center of greens found it difficult to pull the right club so a laser distance device is highly recommended. The clubhouse was great and the view from the restaurant after the round was spectacular!!
Great course for all skill level players.
Wide fairways..litte rough...greens good speed...traditional layout...great overall condition
I like the layout of the course.
The course has a nice layout although some of the doglegs are rather challenging if you end up in the wrong spot. The tee boxes were lacking grass on some but for the most part the course was very enjoyable.
Course was in great shape. Great value for the price
Course was in great shape. Great value for the money. Highly recommend it.
Great country club atmosphere!
Good course to navigate for first time visitor.
Well maintained.
Easy to see and avoid hazards
Sand traps need lots of work due to rain, otherwise would be OK
Exceptionally quiet venue
Will play again while on vacation
great value
Of the three courses that we played, in Panama City, this course was by far the best!!!
Course is improving.
Average course for Panama City, Fl. Rain had damage course but staff is bring course back to good condition.
Old course as expected, nice old trees
No beverage cart, one hole closed and one temp. Green . Was told before round but not before paid and to late. Hard to find.
First time playing, will play again. .
The course was really wet from 60 inches of rain during the last 2 months so it was cart path only. It is Avery challenging course grand I would like to play it when dry.
Nice older course.
Nice par 71 course in Lynn Haven. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good golf carts. Rain runs off pretty well. Many large fox squirrels. Strange looking animals.
Had a great time for a low cost.
The course was outstanding, even though it was very wet. I was pleased with the layout of the course, allowing a golfer of my ability to experience success. I hope to return to this course when I return to the area.
Nice course, chalanging but not unplayable. Only issue I had was that if you weren't in the fairway the ruff was us open conditions.lost balls :-(
Would play again. But would not over play holes and get in ruff as much. I would also keep an eye on exactly where the ball landed if off the fairway.
Donald Ross. Need I say more?
A Donald Ross design worthy of consideration. The greens were not perfect, but the club was actively addressing their problems. There are only a hand full of the original Ross holes left, but the redesign kept to the Ross concept and most golfers would not notice the difference. The staff was super friendly, and the members, I can't stress more just how friendly they were to a couple of outsiders playing their course. I have never been made to feel more welcome at any course as I was here. I will play this course again and I will take friends with me!
